Sackbots - Jump height/distance

Archive: 4 posts

Hello folks.

I'm doing a level using controllable sackbots. I'm trying to figure out a way to lower the jumping distance.

Now, the way I'm trying to it is to have the main controlinator activate a tag when x is pressed. On the sackbot controlinator, the tag sensor is linked to a positional sequencer, containing a battery.... which is then hooked up to the x input of the sackbot controlinator. However, no matter what % I put the battery at, the jump distance doesn't seem to change. I have used this method to lower the running speed of the sackbot, and it works. So is there a way to get it to work for jumping?

I am afraid the only way should be to disconnect X and use movers instead...
See Antikris tutorial (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=67081-Controlinator-Trickery) for details on how to override.

Hmm.. or use a constant down mover and activate it when you want to short the jumping?...
... or activate a high dumping gravity tweaker...
... or many other things i cant think of right now.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Seems to work fine.

The X button on the ps3 controller is technically pressure sensitive, but the way sackbots and sackboys work, the height of your jump is determined by how long you keep x held, not by how hard you press it.(also, I'm pretty sure this game can't distinguish between a light or heavy push on the face buttons as the signals you get from the dcs are purely digital)

So logically, you should be able to control the height by changing the sequencer to its original "start playing forwards!" function and have the battery only be on for a short duration(i.e. half a second) after which the sequencer is reset, or just change it to a resetting timer.
