What kind of crap is this, if you want to get noticed, make some levels to get you noticed. Mm can't do anything about lack of plays, mainly because they don't want to, they would rather the community weaken than do anything, like stopping the exploiting of the cool pages.2012-03-04 22:12:00

Well you're not gonna get noticed if you keep doing costume levels.
again
.... and again
..........and again.

I'm just trying to get noticed

You and several thousand others.

Question is, how are you different? What makes you special?

Coming here and asking for help to get noticed is a futile exercise and at best you might get you a few extra plays out of sympathy. If you want true "success" then you need to make a reputation for yourself. Create something that's more than just good....it's gotta be darn excellent and stand high above the crowd, while maintaining that elusive factor known as "universal appeal". Give it a catchy title and level badge too.

Now hype it to the max. Propagandise your level in any way you can. Make an eye-catching sig banner that advertises your level. Post a thread on the showcase thread. Join as many LBP fansites as possible and advertise your level there too. Make friends in the community...lot's of them....and ask them to tweet about your level. Promote yourself tirelessly, relentlessly and unabashedly, and if that feels too much like whoring yourself then don't do it...just fade into obscuity instead.

Interesting.... by creating a thread about being noticed you just..... got noticed.

I FEEL your pain, man! I'm floating in obscurity with under 1500 hearts. What I really want is.... around 80,000. If I could get that many hearts, I could truly be happy. I feel so un-pom-ish (Websters meaning - un-pom-ish - to be completely not like Poms).

Besides the fact that the 1500 hearts pin is constantly mocking me....

Good grief! I don't know what I would do if I had as few hearts as Ungreth.... I would probably blow my own knee caps off and throw myself in a river or something....

I feel your pain, Dwaine (wow, am I the king of unexpected rhymes or what?).
I got one of my movies (How Mm got the Idea for the Negativitron) on the first page of the cool pages, and it got me about 200 of my 271 hearts. Once I had tasted the high life of being on the cool pages, I wanted more. I made more levels, but they never really got noticed as much. I am currently in a quandary, trying to figure out how to get another level on the cool pages. Right now, I'm thinking of making a sequel to the Mm level. Or, I could actually really start working hard and make a top-notch level that rivals Sealed Fate or Essence of Madness.
Ehh, I'm too lazy.

I miss the good old pre-war LBP days when we didn't have to dodge all these stupid bombs.

I wouldn't be annoyed if 200+ people have hearted you. Seems like a fair deal to be fair. You have to take it in stages. For example, you have the 1st set of creators. The wizards. The movers and shakers. the best etc. People like Comphermc, Jayhawk_ER, CYMBOL etc. These guys make unbelievable levels and they get noticed because they make such great stuff that it's impossible to miss. Then there are the 2nd set of people. The people that never quite make it to MM picked or spotlighted or even 100 hearts even if they do make brilliant levels. Then you have the 3rd and final set, the simply undiscovered. Lbp will never die and maybe because right now, at this very moment, certain people are getting all the notices and fame this doesn't confirm that in 6 months, if you keep going it couldn't be you. LBP consists of around 500 people that are widely known. Compare that with the 7 million + levels published and the 10 thousand people playing at any given points. Odds are stacked my friend. But the best advice is to keep trying, and getting better, and talking to and helping people on here or in game and sooner or later, your name will appear somewhere more noticeable. Just enjoy getting better and creating as eventually, worrying about what other people think and feel is going to drive you crazy on this game.2012-03-05 09:29:00

I have less hearts, no playable levels now, and low notoriety.

Am I complaining, no.

Perchance you should try to create a level with substance and "play-ability" rather than just costume levels.

Not to mention, there is a section on this forum that is meant for this precise reason. To advertise and possibly get noticed. Try a F4F thread.

Ah, I'm flattered To be put next to Comphermc and CYMBOL makes me all tingly inside.

On the topic of getting noticed, the only real way is to basically just make something cool and get lucky. Great levels won't make the cool pages if people aren't intrigued by the level badge, description, or title. Hence, you gotta make something so strange, unique, or relatable to people that they'll feel like they have to go play it.
