I was wondering the exact same thing actually. A loop could be extremely useful.2008-12-31 14:07:00

I asked something similar, https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=6542
IT isn't really the same problem, but the loops from rollercoasters which are explained there could be useful to you.

And I see you're from Belgium also, the Benelux will soon rule this forum >=)

Yeah I think that's what he means.

EDIT: Oldage, that doesn't really help for a closed loop. I'm assuming that littlebigme wanted a close loop, and that's certainly what I was wondering about...

I still don't understand the question. I've built things that loop around on themselves several times over, but it's a really, really hard job to get a cart that balances well enough to do it.

If you make some sort of ascii diagram of what you want it would make it easier to understand.

I had the same question? for a level i finally never constructed. But i think about this sometimes and i thought about something. Warning: it's a complex thing to do and i'm not sure it is really effective (i only think about it), and i'm not sure you will understand well what i will say because my english is not so good. Nevertheless, I try:

I think one of the only way to do such a thing is to play with two of the three planes and construct your engine with a removable part. When this part is here (for exemple constituting the third plane part of the engine), the engine run on the third plane (but is actually on the two planes) and the looping start. Near the end of the looping, the removable part disappear (by detector) and the engines is only on the second plane to continue his route.
Of course, your level must be well-designed in order to this work.

I hope you understand what i meant.

I think I understand. If you substitute the word plan for plane, as in the 3 different playing planes that the player can interact with, that kind of makes sense. And the disappear section is referring to a magnetic key / switch combo disolving the relevant parts.

Exactly!
Thank you Elbee23.
I edited my previous post and changed "plan" (which actually is the french word...hugh;; by "plane".

Seeing as LBM hasn't said anything else in this thread yet then I'm just gonna assume he means a loop that a vehicle needs to go around and then carry on

If this is what you do in fact need, then this is how I personally would do it

I know it's an image, but I think you mean "sensor"...

When the sensor is triggered, it both dissolves the dissolve that has it has just run across, and then the same sensor triggers and emitter with an infinite life span that projects the piece of rail that it will continue on. I think that's what you mean.

And the sensor could be a player sensor or a magnetic key pairing that's on the cart. In this example either will work.

Yep that's exactly what I was trying to show and I was gonna write an explanation underneath but completely forgot
Also yes I'm dumb and wrote censor  lol
