How do you edit/finish/delete polls?

Archive: 3 posts

I am trying to finish the poll in my project thread but I can't seem to find a relating button anywhere.
Also how do you start a new poll after finishing a poll because I need to put down this weeks poll in a bit.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I've found the polls feature on this website to be lacking as well. When you initially create a poll, you're given options to add questions, add an ending time, etc., and sadly this is also the only time you can change these options. I suppose it makes sense that you can't edit a poll since altering a question could change what people would want to respond, but to answer your question, the only way to delete a poll is to delete the thread under the "Edit Post" and then "Go Advanced" options, and the only way to finish a poll is to set a time when you first create the poll.2012-02-29 21:26:00

If you've set the poll with no closing deadline, you can't manually close it, although a moderator/administrator can.

If you want to put a new poll in the same thread as an existing poll, you'll have to ask an administrator to remove the existing poll, then you can add in a new one.

Best thing to do if you want to change or delete a poll is to use the "Report Post" button on the OP of the thread, and use the "Reason" box to request what you want done to it.

Yeah. I guess the designers envisaged that you'd always use a separate thread for each poll, so there'd never be a need to change an existing poll, thus preventing the poster from manipulating the results.
