Playing the Move pack without a Move controller (but with a friend who has one)

Archive: 14 posts

Hi there,

Now that I'm on holidays, I'd like to purchase the PS Move pack, but I don't have a Move controller yet. Can I possibly start playing the Move levels with a friend who owns a Move controller? I'd like to start collecting the prizes as soon as possible, so do you know if it's possible to play the pack as long as one player has got a Move controller?

Thank you in advance!

This has been a hotly debated topic with kind of mixed results. As far as we seem to have agreed, As long as the person with the move controller hosts then you should be fine (as long as you have bought the move pack on store). To do this, Have your friend go into one of the move levels without you ans then invite you in. This is the only way that you can get it (You cannot go together so he/she must be alone in the level before he/she invites you). We have had mixed results with this though after the latest patch as I couldn't join my friend as it kept saying player busy but others on this and other forums have been able to do it after the patch. It's possible that my problem was connection based so as long as you have a willing friend with a move controller and move pack and you have the move pack then you all should be fine.

Hope this helps,

Liam

Yes, it's possible.

Your friend will have to host the game and invite you. If they're already at the level badges before you join you should both be able to play the levels together.

Thanks a lot for your prompt answer! I didn't know this had been thoroughly discussed before, thanks again.

I know the sticker panel material is available in the tutorial, but what about the sequencer instruments? That's all I care about really.2012-02-28 13:27:00

The instruments are prizes in the levels unfortunately. They aren't in the tutorials.

You can copy this level in the meantime if you want immediate access to everything: http://lbp.me/v/6ekbzk

Does that work with the music sequencer objects?

Oh, well it might be due to the Patch 1.11 (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=68273-Patch-1.11!&p=983555#post983555), but when I choose Move Pack in the More Stories section, the game tells me that every player needs a Move controller to play the levels. So I can't even access the tutorials on my own. I'll ask a friend to invite me later, but as every player needs a controller, I don't think it'll work.2012-02-28 16:58:00

^ it's always been that way. you need a friend who is already in one of the Move-levels to invite you in to it with them. it won't work if they are in their pod. *mew2012-02-28 17:57:00

The tutorials aren't under "More Stories" - they're in the same "Tutorials" section where you'd find the Create Mode tutorials which shipped with the game.
