How do i get sackbots to jump?

Archive: 4 posts

exactly what it says on the tin. I'm still working on my level Tales from Sack Academy and i need some more help. In my level, if you choose to save a sackbot whos been tied to the the top of a flagpole, he'll follow you around and im planning on having a room in the school in which you can only access if you saved the sackbot. However, for some reason he wont jump and yes i have it to where he can jump as well as change layers, use certain powerups and gizmos, etc. any suggestions? oh, and BTW, before you choose whether to save the sackbot or not, you are accompanyed by another sackbot. not long after you make your choice, she is hindered by stairs(i set to where she can't jump or change layer, however this is on purpose for its a necissary part of the level). i've tried changing layers with the sackbot you either rescue or leave behind when i get to the stairs and he will do that, plus i've been mashing the jump button more times than i care to remember, but no dice. any tips or suggestions?2012-02-26 14:35:00

Have you tried sticking a controlinator (set to receive) that has a tag sensor connect to the X button on the Sackbot's circuit board? Then you just need a tag before every step to make the bot jump.

PS: I haven't actually tried this myself, but this is what I would try if I could.

It doesn't have to be set to receive... You could make a path out of tags and only make the bot move before or after the player - or record actions (see LBP2-torials on youtube).
Though bots from story mode are just set to follow, nothing special. Are they scared of height ? Set it to yes, then they will jump if they know they can jump.
