The Movies

My pick this week is 'The Movies' by Teebonesy. It's got a great film noir look to it. It captures the feel of an early 1900's New York City and it has REALLY cool animations. You have to see it. | 2008-12-31 03:57:00 Author: Jaeyden Posts: 564 |
Sounds really cool! I added it to my long list of levels I must play - I'll check it out! | 2008-12-31 04:01:00 Author: hilightnotes Posts: 1230 |

so i just search the movies and teebonezy..? Searching the author usually works best in my experience, so I'd search teebonezy. It should come up on the first page. | 2008-12-31 04:20:00 Author: hilightnotes Posts: 1230 |

The movies is a fantastic level. I saw this when he only had one projector done. (he sent me a key for it) and i thought it was awesome then. It was supposed to be only a test, and then it ended up being a full level three days later! He really captured the whole feel of black and white movies. He's got the movies on a giant wheel, and sometimes they go off sync because of lag, but that's the smallest complaint in the world. Honestly, check this level out if you haven't, it is a visual experience like none other. | 2008-12-31 17:59:00 Author: xkappax Posts: 2569 |
Oh wow, so weird to see this thread, having only now registered on this board. Just wanted to thank you guys for the recommendation, and also to correct the spelling of my name - Teebonesy with an s, not a z. Although I imagine I probably came up in the searches anyway. I'm flattered that people are spreading the good times! Thanks again to all. | 2009-01-20 02:28:00 Author: Teebonesy Posts: 1937 |

Yeah this level is very nice. Also, I recommend Teebonesy's other level which is pretty cool as well. | 2009-04-27 03:53:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
yes i would agree with the recommendation. it's a great looking level with a good sense of humour too. never could get up to that high section at the popcorn seller though! | 2009-04-27 12:14:00 Author: Matt 82 Posts: 1096 |
This was a great level. I liked the talk after each animation and the posters which were photos from other levels. | 2009-04-27 15:05:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
Thanks everyone! I'm glad people are still finding this level, although these days it's all a slow trickle of word-of-mouth, as it was released before the latest updates to the levels pages, and will nowadays ONLY appear to people who seek it out and actively search for it. Which is a shame, I'd love to get it out to more people. But blah, what are you gonna do? Anyway, I always appreciate the good words! In a somewhat related, somewhat unrelated bit of news, I'm still working (in real life) on the film which the second of the three movies is taken from, The Library Chronicles. I just finished 3 days of shooting over the weekend, and will start editing those new scenes soon, but for now there's a new trailer up: YouTube - The Library Chronicles - A Bureaucratic Prologue (Trailer 1) | 2009-04-29 01:08:00 Author: Teebonesy Posts: 1937 |
Ha, that looks awesome and strange at the same time! Never knew you worked on movies. What are you, director, cameraman? | 2009-04-29 03:10:00 Author: Kog Posts: 2358 |

Just make a change to the level (any little change, put dark matter somewhere you can't see it) and publish it over the level. I mean, it won't stick on Cool Levels or get you thousands of plays but its good for like 20 plays at a time. | 2009-04-29 03:15:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |

I really love this, its always one of the first that i pick out when showing new LBPer's the game. Tons of charm, genuinely funny and I'm still bowled over by how it looks six months later. And i can never do the popcorn bit either. | 2009-04-29 12:55:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
What I do is I just add a space to the description. I used to do that before they fixed Cool Levels. Now it seems to only work, for me at least, when you make a "change" to the level. | 2009-04-29 14:32:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
