I really enjoyed this level, but there are a few rough edges and it took a while to get a hang of the controls. I got stuck truing to jump up just after I used the goo gun and I couldn't jump up on the rounded platforms to get up higher, I used the goo gun to make the big block drop but still couldn't get past it.

As I said I was pretty impressed with your vision up to that point, but think that the stage design needs a bit more time, the concepts and style are there, just more thought around the platforming.

I will probably have another go, because I do like ghostbusters and thought this was fun, the small part that I saw.

Hey thanks for your input! I'll certainly take your points on board. I tested the level thoroughly though and everything works as it should but maybe it's not as user friendly as it could be. Once you've used the goo gun to drop the big block all you have to do is jump on that same block to get up to a higher place. If you're getting stuck could you post a pic so i can find out exactly what's going wrong?

EDIT: ....and if you press L3 it gives you a reminder of the controls, i hope you enjoy it!

in fact I changed it so the control instructions just scroll through at the bottom of the screen!

lol, it's a great idea, and very fun. It's not always clear where to go or what to do though, and the platforming is kinda hard. You might wanna make the platforms that you can shoot out last a little longer. If you used bots you could make it multiplayer. My friend and I played through it, but the follower kept getting mixed up...lol. It was a very fun level overall. Definitely worth a play! very nice this time around!!! the controls seemed much more intuitive , the platforming was more fun, and direction was good. you might wanna put a checkpoint at the very beginning because i died twice on the first jumps, and then the ghost got me forcing me to restart...lol. but, great improvements! <32012-02-28 21:15:00

Just played this, and it deserves a review.

First thing I noticed was that you use emitted Creatinators instead of Sackbots. That's a bit more unique, and the different Creatinators make it easy to tell which one is currently equipped. Very nice idea. The one issue I had was with the Platform gun. The platforms were a bit difficult to work with, and found myself falling when they timed out just as I was about to make myself jump. A few more seconds of time on those would really make a difference, since some of the platforming is pretty difficult just because of that. The main issue is where you start going left. Another thing of note is that the weapon swap takes a bit to get used to. The subtitled reminder is very welcome in that regard.

The game over all is on the easy side, with a few exceptions. One is a little of the platforming, as mentioned above, another is the ghosts. While they generally are aesthetically well made, I think they could be improved on. But let's cover the current problems first. I had ghosts spawn on me once or twice, resulting in an unavoidable death. Another time, I messed up and the ghost followed me to the checkpoint, killing me instantly on respawn until the ghost timed out. Also, the library specter was presented as a boss, but ended up being all too easy. I think some real AI to the ghosts would really make this level shine. Especially important on a boss, otherwise there is no sense of accomplishment to the game, which is really a shame.

The environment and music... were lacking. But I can't be too harsh here, since I'm pretty bad with them myself. Changing the music to a more intense song during the dramatic moments would really add a nice touch, as would adding little decorations here and there, just to make things look nice. You could really benefit from the extra layers glitch, too. The decorating I did see, however, is very fitting. So keep up that theme.

You have a great concept here, and there's tons of potential with this level. I'm giving it a Yay!, and I'm torn between if it deserves a heart or not, but I want to see some improvements if you make any... So a heart it is. I think it needs more work, but well on its way to being great.

Wow! Thanks for that review! I would love to make the changes it needs but I am lacking skills in some areas of creation. I wasn't intending the library ghost as a boss but i can see how you (and probably others) thought that it was supposed to be (plus, i was gonna bring her back in part 2). I really appreciate the feed back and i'm glad you like the weapon swapping. The platforms gun is meant to only last a short time as i thought it would add a sense of urgency to the level. I'm happy you liked it overall and i will try to implement your ideas. Thanks for playing I really appreciate it!

.....Just to add, any suggestions for the music? when and where to make any changes? I haven't got the hang of music sequencers yet so that's out the window! hahaha

A tip: Always have your proton pack equipped except for when you need something else obviously!
