My Sound Sequencer carries on playing...

Archive: 8 posts

I've created a short bassline rhythm using the Sound Sequencer which I'm now using to play at certain activations in my level. It's placed in a Microchip along with other switches etc. so when the microchip is activated it starts playing... now it starts playing fine, but when the Microchip is deactivated the rhythm carries on playing?

Am I doing something wrong? I would assume that when the Microchip is deactivated this would stop the Sequencer from playing also?

Hi Tom..

You mean the LOOP option? Thing is, it really is a short bassline which is intended to be looped. I really wanted it to play for as long as the feature is activated?

After the amount of time you want it to be active, maybe you could have it activate a blank music sequencer to cancel the other one out? Or (if you have background music) activate the another song.2012-02-22 16:43:00

OK guys! thanks for the tips... it surprises me that there is no STOP or RESET connection for it though!

One more thing.. the sounds you use in the sequencer seem very, very low even with the volume at 100%. At times I can hardly hear my creations what with other stuff going on.. is there any other way of making them louder?

Some instruments, especially the bass, are very low. Try doubling the instrument on the sequencer to give it more umph.2012-02-22 17:43:00

To add to what Knutso said, have you made sure to increase the notes to their maximum size (Up/down on R-stick to change size if memory serves correctly)?

You're right about the stop/reset thing. Regular sequencers have them, so surely they could add them to the music sequencers?

Mmm! Not sure I've done that... I'll look into this... Thanks again!
