Performing Arts Discussion

Hey guys, long time no see! How is everybody?

So those of you who are following me on twitter (@plasmavor) should hopefully have seen that I am auditioning for my school's production of Les Miserables this year.
This made me start thinking, I wonder if any other LBPCers are theatre geeks like myself?

I've been acting since I was about 6, and singing since around then too. I don't claim I'm any good, but they are two of my favourite.. Hobbies? So guys, I'm interested to know, are any of you guys interested in the performing arts? What's your favourite musical/play? Have you ever been in one? I want to hear all about it!
Thanks guys! ^__^

EDIT: Changed the title of the thread to better convey what it was about.

I wouldn't say I'm a theater geek, not by any stretch of the imagination. I was however a member of La Luna, a performing arts group that went around performing at schools and other small venues, for a good few years and my god it was fun! It was run by two ladies who were, well, just as crazy as the rest of us, I don't know how anything ever got done

It was probably the dodgiest thing I've ever been involved in, I'm pretty sure their budget was incredibly tight but I was a kid and didn't care. We were always in some dodgy run-down building which I used to think was awesome, and probably still would to be honest. I think I'm starting to lose track of the topic, but my point is the performing arts are awesome, as long as I don't have to sing...

Aww that sounds so fun! I'd love to do something like that!

Yeah, I haven't sung in a performance for about 5 years now, but it's something I enjoy doing, just haven't had the oppurtunity to until now. Why don't you like singing?

Why don't you like singing?

Well, I guess I don't really mind singing, just I wasn't exactly gifted with the best singing voice

All the ones my school have forced me to do (Drama, Art, Dance and Music) I'm awful at, to the point where I'd say they're my worst subjects. I express creativity through LBP

Good luck with your audition though

One-Million times yes! I actually hope im an actor when im older and in my (albeit modest) opinion I am very good at acting, I have been told I have natural ability. Unfortunately it is more promoted in America that the UK. And the singing, well I don't do it but Im thinking of giving it a try!

Good luck with audition though. I am waaaaaay to modest.

Good luck with the audition!

I don't know how interested I am in theatre, but film really interests me. I've always wanted to act, and I've been in a couple plays, but I haven't been in anything where I've learned a lot about the subject. Acting is a passion of mine though, so I make the occasional youtube video as a release. It's fun.

Thanks for all your luck wishes! Like I said I'll be sure to keep all you guys updated!

YouTube sounds interesting, I think acting in a web show with a few friends would be so much fun! TV would be awesome too, it's my acting aspiration to play the Doctor on Doctor Who, though that will probably never happen.
