The Move Pack Truth.

Archive: 10 posts

Hi Guys and Girls,

I realize that this subject may well be in the wrong place but considering that the "Help" thread seems to be the most active one then I thought I would post it here. This is a small thread to "HELP" everyone that has been asking (including myself) about buying the MOVE PACK without owning Move.

I bought the Move Pack a few hours ago and my PS3 and LittleBigPlanet 2 are all up-to-date.

When trying to access the MOVE planet after buying the pack I got the message telling me that "Everyone in the party needs to have a PS MOVE controller connected and working" (I was alone in the POD). I then tried to get my friend to host as he does own the MOVE PACK and a MOVE controller. However, he also got the same message telling him that "Everyone in the party needs to own a MOVE controller and have it connected". This proves that unfortunately, after the new patch buying the MOVE pack without owning a MOVE controller will result in you not being able to access the planet. flyinhawaiian, a fellow viewer on this site also mentioned that if the person is inside the level ans then invites you then you can access and gain all the stuff. This may well be the case and I would not rule it otu. It did not work for me though as it kept telling me that the person was busy, then, when he had left the MOVE level, it would let me join him again. Sorry that I can not confirm this part

However, Your friend can still gift you items such as the "Sticker panel" etc. All he/she has to do place it in a level and then you capture the object in your popit. It is possible to find some levels that the lovely community creators have created that contain all the items, materials and decorations that come with the Move Pack. The only downside is that these items will show in the community objects. Which really sucks lol.

Anyway, hopefully this will help a lot of people that were considering buying the MOVE pack without MOVE. Yes, get it if you want the Sticker panel badly but for ease and accessibility I would hold out and get the MOVE controller.

Thanks,

Liam:star:

Actually, if the friend goes into the level, they can invite you, and you'll be able to go through the level (s) you just have to return to your own pod in between the levels, then have them re-invite you.2012-02-20 01:32:00

I tried that too, however it kept telling me that the person was busy, then when he left the level I could join him again. Of course it could have been my connection, I will edit the post now. Thanks.2012-02-20 01:37:00

You can get the Sticker Panel from the Tutorials you unlock from purchasing the Move Pack.. You don't need a move controller to get it, it gives you it after completing the tutorial. Sadly, everything else, (not including Logic), is found in the Move Story Levels.2012-02-20 02:04:00

If this is true, then it urned up in an update. Because I took several non move people through the move pack. I didnt do anything special to get them to join just invited them. Infact to get the 100% prizes for them I just invited them at the last checkpoint of each level and they loaded in fine.

Maybe they did the tutorials first though. *shrugs*

I actually forgot that you can do the tutorials in the POD lol. And yes Me_Fusion I tried to gain access to the level whilst it was and was not being played and got the "player busy" when inside and then "Needs motion controller" message when outside. However, people have already stated that they're able to do this. So maybe there is something that you have to do before you can access it? Perhaps all the tutorials? A bit like when you start LBP1 and it asks you to watch the tutorials before you do anything whilst creating. I don't know. It may well have been my connection (strict NAT type all the way)2012-02-20 09:02:00

I played the whole pack with people who didn't even buy it. They just had to join me while I were inside the level, or if they had move but not the pack they could be in the pod from the start. So yeah, I don't know why it didn't let you join him.2012-02-20 22:45:00

Perhaps it was all along my silly connection. I imagine my 30MB MAX connection speed with 2 PS3's, 2 Laptops, A very old Vista PC and a Sonos music player is taking quite a bit of toll on my interent speed. Sorry guys then for the pointless Thread :/2012-02-21 09:09:00

Since you paid for it I don't see why there can't be an option to allow you to unlock the prizes immediately, Move or no Move.

The Move pack was specifically designed to contain the most oft-requested things, orchestral instruments and nature-themed decorations among other things. If the Move pack was supposed to tempt me into buying a Move controller then it failed. To me, it only came across as a ****ish thing to do to LBP players.
