Welcome to Episode 79 of the Spotlight! We may have fewer levels for you this fortnight but they are all of fantastic quality with some inspirational platforming, stunning visuals and cool puzzles for you to get your teeth into. Once again we will be publishing a hub for the levels featured in this Episode and don't forget to try out our nifty ?nodinator? - there are some excellent levels amongst the honourable mentions too! The hub level (http://lbp.me/v/e8b1z3) is now live, and Spaff will be featuring it in the ingame newsfeed on Monday as usual.

Have fun playing and keep posting those amazing levels in the Showcase!

PS3 Spotlight

http://i5.lbp.me/img/bl/475e5337f5d7512305df4d5c5a390b1a25066985.pngKneel Before the SteelVodkashots Can you survive the factory? (Single Player only)

Can you survive the factory asks Vodkashots and I have to say that one or two vodka shots might just be necessary to get you through! Perils and puzzles aplenty await you in this rusting factory and it will take both wit and skill to navigate them unscathed. This level may not be very long but it's packed to bursting point with beautifully detailed visuals, clever, original gameplay and nifty ideas. Whether you?re wielding your trusty paintinator or having a rollercoaster ride in the awesome controllinator vehicle which whizzes you to certain doom, you?ll have a blast and be left wanting more! Vodkashots is definitely a creator to watch. A rusty factory that is falling apart around you doesn?t sound like a fun place to be, but it is when there are a few checkpoints and platforms to traverse. A solid platforming stage that has a surprising direction change that keeps the level rolling along. And it's only part one!
Old equipment, dangerous pits, rusting ruins, and a whole lot of destruction. This level is literally falling apart at the seams. You'd better get your little feet moving if you don't want an electrical burn! The moment I popped through the entrance gate, I knew this level was special. The smell of rusty metal permeates the air and the sounds of gnashing and grinding steel can be heard all around you. As I inched forward, I basked in all the details, both small and grand that the level had to offer. The gameplay was smooth and quite fun with a good dose of puzzle sections to keep you occupied. This factory is not without its challenges either. There are place where you?ll need tread carefully or move swiftly less you be electrocuted, smashed or burned. It's impossible to be bored here as there are a variety of cool gameplay elements found throughout, including a cool monocycle. Man, this thing was cool. Use it to crash your way through barriers and finally escape this factory of steel.
http://i5.lbp.me/img/bl/16519d6dc3cb9e9b0a3b5ba5eb9c3e01b11ec15c.pngLittle Big MajongJust_Tom__ Welcome to majong. A game were you need to solve a puzzle by finding pairs. Hope you enjoy! (Shoutout to Aryastark and ingenius for creative help )

Crisp clean tiles are always welcome, be it in a kitchen or a bathroom or in a stylish rendition of Majong. Lean forward and scan the blocks for matches, but be strategic about it, there are points to be had. The faster you clear it, the higher the score. A simple game that is easy to understand, you will find yourself wanting just one more go to beat that high score... well, that?s what I did anyway.
Ah, what a level to calm the nerves after a day full of platforming and exploring. Simple, fun visuals and classic matching action make this game one to remember. For those of you who like a challenge, trying to get that elusive high score is tons of fun and a good mind workout too!Majong is one of my favorite games. I've spent hours and hours playing this seemingly simple match game. Just_tom has done a tremendous job of capturing the essence of Majong in this wonderful level. If you have no clue as to what Majong is, it's quite simply a match game. You have a stack of tiles with different pictures and symbols on their face. The tiles are arranged in a pyramid and it's your job to find matching pairs. Tom did a great job with all the symbols and pictures, I mean spot on accurate. There are two boards to choose from, a small one and a large one and add to that, race mode, and you?ve got yourself a good time. Go check it out, you?ll love it.

http://if.lbp.me/img/bl/fcfcc74f6a4ce068e54cbc5c26ffa285f49ef39d.pngGilded PlatformsElvenbane Rayman-esque platforming fun for LBP (Medium Difficulty)

Fans of Rayman Origins will have a big grin on their faces as they spot all the wonderful details in this amazing recreation. From the goggle-eyed blue checkpoint monsters to the hovering Lums, it's all there, reproduced in glorious Technicolor. The sticker work is just wonderful ? you won?t have seen anything like it in any other LBP level and it really gives the whole thing that beautiful, vibrant, cartoon-like feel of the Rayman game. The gameplay is Rayman-style tough too, especially if you are going for a highscore and need to rack up combos of pink Lums before they lose their value. There are plenty of hazards too to keep you on your toes ? an awesome giant octopus lurks in the depths, as do truly PESKY electrified squid and finally a gorilla in a very bad mood. Elvenbane has once again raised the bar in terms of what is possible visually in LBP. This level will blow you away...and kill you...a lot!You ever see one of those movies like Mary Poppins or Who Framed Roger Rabbit that mixes the real world with the cartoon world? This level is kind of like that, only better because instead of just watching, you get to interact with it. The sticker work in here is on the other side of brilliant and the details and effects just blew me away. This is a platforming level with three distinctly different environments to play through. The first path leads through a forest that is just teeming with life. You?ll need to carefully navigate thick briar patches and avoid such creatures as a Kraken like beast that?ll eat you should you get to close! I could write several pages about this level but I?m running out of space. I will add that the next areas, an underwater and an ice world, are just as or more vibrant and dangerous than the forest stage. And to top it off, there is a cool boss battle to boot! An awesome level that you must play now!
http://ie.lbp.me/img/bl/abe8102530f9c6cfdea6d7e661ae534ee48c46b8.pngKiddy PlatformerLuos_83 A level for our LittleBig Kids - Discover a magical forest, find ancient temples and who knows.. maybe even a visit in, up and around the clouds! - Since most of my levels are too hard for the youngsters I wanted to make them a level they can enjoy! - Level took me only 18 hours to build, but the kid in me put his soul into it! Enjoy!

We?re all kids at heart, and Luos proves that he is the same with this friendly level of non threatening jumps and colorful scenery. Wait, did I say non-threatening? Hmmm... It does have some danger and challenge, that I?m sure any kid can do... but as you get older maybe your reaction times aren?t so good. You better step up to the challenge olde timer, can?t let no dagnadbit whippersnappers show you up!A kiddy platformer! For kids? Aw man, I want to play a ?real? level! I want a level where?hold up. What?s this? This section is pretty cool, and look at this swell design. Hahaha tee hee, wheee, This is fun! With its brilliant colors and simple yet fun gameplay, you?ll be grinning your whole way through. The level is devised of three different play areas, each with its own unique style. There's the forest stage with giddy filled gameplay, you've got the temple area with all kinds of grapple goodness and then there's the enchanted skyworld with vibrant smile inducing colors. The kid in me loves the level and heck, the adult side of me loves it as well!
How can a level be for children, but still provide a nice score challenge for those older sacks? Playing the Kiddie Platformer might give you a few pointers! Spot on gameplay and whimsical visuals all coupled together with excellent bubble combos makes this level one you simply cannot miss. Especially if you have some younger happy gadders around!

http://id.lbp.me/img/bl/ebd9c72cfefc13e23db028ba60e53f0893eb2d9d.pngSeason of Illusionsse-mi92 A pure Platformer. -- [ Medium/Hard difficult ]-- [1 Player highly recommended!]-- Much thanks are going to all my friends who supported me with this level and who had to test it again and again Music made by Festerd_Jester and NK827. I hope you enjoy

A wicker world with some pinky purple particle effects awaits you in this fun and funky platformer, don't be distracted by the lovely scenery or great music, this is one of those sneaky stages that requires you to pay attention and observe the machinations of the moving platforms or you will quickly find your self plummeting into a not so friendly pit of spikes or some deviously placed plasma. It's not unfairly hard, but does require some quick reflexes so warm up your jumping thumb and jump on in!Fancy a spot of delightfully challenging platforming? I think Se-mi98 has a fix for you! Prepare to be lost in the elegant visuals and innovative platforming The season of Illusions has to offer. There are pesky prize bubbles littered in tough to reach places all over the place, and just finding one wasnt enough to satisfy me! Once I found one, I kept seeing more and more JUST out of reach of my little burlap hands! I'll most certainly be back for more bubble hunting, platforming fun, and I hope everyone will do the same! Beautiful, subtle visuals and gorgeous music are just the icing on the cake of a level which is really all about the gameplay. Se-mi92 is clearly a master of illusions ? mostly the illusion that things are safe when it swiftly becomes apparent that they are not! Seemingly innocent corners turn into death traps as the walls close inexorably in on you; spinning wheels move suddenly out of line and you end up soaring gracefully *cough* into the pillar now blocking your way; prize bubbles hang tantalisingly in mid air seemingly unreachable. It's all so cleverly and elegantly orchestrated! A truly magical level full of creative and challenging gameplay ? it?ll have you under its spell right from the start.

http://ic.lbp.me/img/bl/a8c7770bda9636f09e6a39efe06eec4c1b5f71b5.pngPAPER WORLD 2 : DoodleAdel22 1 Player recommended... Have fun

Some truly amazing and amusing things lie waiting to animate your day in this clever place of paper. Fight your way through some tricky platforming and avoid the ever present hand of the bored doodler as he builds an increasingly interesting world for you to explore. That kid sure does get malicious towards the end though, I wondered if he was zoning out during an ethics class as I fought for survival enjoying every fly kick
Amazingly unique visuals quite literally jump off the page as you jump, run, and drive your way through the hectic pages of a child's notebook. I completely forgot I was playing Littlebigplanet because I was having so much fun, and I think you'll all enjoy it the same!Wow! I don't even know where to start. I mean?WOW! Excuse me while I collect my brains from the floor because my mind has been B-L-O-W-N. I began this level and within seconds I had to call my whole family in to have a look. The animations in this are quite simply amazing. It's like Adel has taken all the drawings I did in school and breathed life into them. The adventures my little stick guy had in this level were awesome and hilarious. Adel spared no details when he crafted this gem. My favorite was when my stick guy was riding in the back of the stick truck and would be hanging on A La Superman style as the truck jumped ramps. There is also the part where Pirate ships are in the background shooting cannonballs at you as you try and go by. I loved this hand drawn world and could go on for hours about it and just might if I don't stop right here. Go play it, you will NOT be disappointed.

Who is Hubbie (LBPCentralHub)?

It's nice to see the LBP community is still plenty active and that people are actually paying attention to the in-game news/spotlight hub given all the effort that is put into these. Congrats to the other selected creators as well, may your play count runneth over.

I thought I'd share a couple of my favorite reviews from this new batch of players...this is what makes creating worthwhile folks!

setho0702
Rated it BOO!
Long
"nah"

> That's not a review seth, but thanks for taking the time to share.

SUPERMOM4020
Rated it BOO!
Scored 335.
"its impossible to beat to me"

> Apparently not that impossible, you posted a score?!?

merrick155
Rated it BOO!
Played it 2 times.
"gayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"

> Probably shouldn't have played that second time?

* I figured including the PSN names was cool since it's public record.

CCubbage,

Your score is pretty safe...I also see that I accidentally posted a score when I was showing the level to my sister, I hate when I do that. Good thing I wasn't trying to collect points.

The intrigue is killing me. A y not an ie...is that a clue?

Constructive/nice comments are great and all...but tell me this one from Mr. Reptile doesn't make you chuckle.

"This makes me rage my face off every minute I'm playing."

I try to picture these people playing and laugh and laugh...I'm thinking of creating a new genre for the express purpose of making people rage quit. Gorgeous vistas that lead to a dead-end with lots of doors that don't open and levers that do nothing, etc. bwah ha ha.

I don't need more attention, the MM pick was plenty.

Hello, I played 2 of these levels, and are must play, I have queued the 78 and 79 episode hub ( this one ) and it's like the door where the fun is guaranteed, but sadly I didn't played all the levels yet, but, I think is better have always cool and new levels to play.

- Congratulations to everyone who are picked and great work by the spotlight crew as usual.

WOW! I can't thank you enough for not only choosing my level "Kneel Before the Steel" but making it the first pick! I can't believe it, thank you so much. Part 2 is almost finished and I apologize for the abrupt ending of the first part, but the wait will be worth it. There is a whole new gameplay element involving another controllinator that you guys haven't even seen yet! I can't wait to show it to you guys! Thanks a bunch 2012-02-24 08:27:00

Thanks! It makes our day to be able to get really cool levels like yours a bit more exposure and it's great to hear that Part 2 is on its way!

Just to clarify though, the order of the levels in the Spotlight depends purely on the order in which they were published in the Level Showcase. It's not in order of preference or anything like that. Don't get us wrong, we loved your level and I don't want to prick any bubbles or anything but equally I wouldn't want you thinking we liked Part 2 any the less if it just happened to be spotlighted and appeared further down the list!

That's the reason for the Spotlights!

Even though some stages have come from 'well known' people, it never takes away spots from anyone else.

I know that Hubbie has been replying to people that seem upset explaining this, and I am sure that Hubbie* would be very happy to read comments like this.
