Vector Storm

Archive: 24 posts

Hi Guys.
first to introduce my new Level, I want to apologize for my absence, but this last my work took me away entirely all my free Time.
After nearly three months of hard work finally I have completed and published ?Vector Storm?.
Yes,this is the name of my new lbp2 level.

As many of you know who played at my ? Icarus Type Alpha? Level,i m a space shooter Lover and my new level could only be a new shooter.
But a shooter I think completely different from all other-
I did not want to do another ?Icarus? Style Level,But Something different.
In My Mind I had this idea for a long time but I thought it would be impossible to achieve
With Lbp2.
but between a lot of bugs and problems,I succeeded to make it.

Vector Storm Is an Innovative, frenetic and psychedelic Perspective 3d Shooter.
You will have to clean up all the six Stages from the creatures and boss, collecting Bonus,Extra Energy,Smart Bombs and Extra Weapons playing in sync with the musics between Lights,Effects And Explosions.

it is so different from the norm that i think it is better to play than to explain to be understood
especially for my Bad English.

Have Fun!

Alright, I have played this, and here is my review.

Well, first of all, the introduction absolutely BLEW me away. Starting off with an official loading sign, only then to be greeted with great effects and an outstanding menu, you know it's not here to dissapoint. The twisting turning background of the menu is mesmerizing, and the menu itself has a lot to offer, including the option to use either a sixaxis controller or a Move controller, a comprehensive tutorial, credits, and highscores. I don't have a Move controller, so I just ended up using the regular sixaxis controller.

You can tell a lot of work was put into this, being a fluid shooter that impresses throughout, with a sort of rotating-gear background, changing color as you progress through the various levels. As you progress these levels, aiming not only at the slew of creepy badguys, but for items to gain health, points and explosives, you're greeted with top-notch voice acting, and some cool looking bosses. Your health bar is neatly placed in the bottom-right, although I was more focused on shooting down a bunch of badguys. I'm not sure how many levels there are, I certianly didn't make it to the end.

It's one of those shooters that throws everything it has to you, from start to finish. Some enemies, like the cells, were a bit hard to shoot down, but that's fine. This game has helped break some serious boundaries, and it was a HUGE joy to play this. I expect to come back various times. :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 (Even though we can't rate by stars in LBP2, that's just my own seperate rating, so I guessa yay and a heart then, going by LBP2 standards)

Great job to everyone who worked on it, I most certainly hope it gets the amount of plays it deserves.

I am speechless.
Your review seems really done by a professional Game reviewer.
it is highly detailed and more than this I could not ask!
I can only thank you!
now that I'have much more free, I'll play the levels of the community and from here.
is when I started Vector that I have not played more levels.
my queue is full of a lot of bautifull work and now it s time to play it!

Oh, why uh, heh, thank you kindly.

That's good to hear, and if you have any other projects of your own in the future you need beta testing, feel free to send me a message.

P.S. I'll have to get to playing that Icarus Alpha level some day. ^^

Man, I have played many and I mean MANY levels since LBP first was introduced to me, but, never have one took me by storm til I played this(no pun intended)
There was a game I grew up playing which reminded so much of this using a knob to turn the pinpoint area to shoot. Unfortunately, I can't recall
The name since it was during the 8o's era. To tell you the truth, I really felt like I was playing a totally different game other than LBP2. Being said that,
everything from the introduction to the actual gameplay was an extra-extraordinary sense of feeling I can only describe as "WOW". Just when I thought the
Gameplay couldnt get any better comes along the soundtrack to your level. I have been an avid listener to trance: Tiesto being my favorite. So you can
Imagine the pleasant surprise I got when the music started. The visuals was amazing and always fresh in every phase. I can't imagine how much time and effort
Went into creating this master piece. How you're able to not max out the thermo with the amount of logic and detail used is beyond me. If I didn't know any
better, I would've guessed you were a game programmer.

Please continue doing what you're doing because LBP2 has become that much better. Thank you for sharing this to the community

Pirmaut's mah fwiend

I had the chance to play a very early version of VS more than a month ago...then Pirmaut had to go offline to work on it because of the emitting bug.
What I played was already good even without the bells and whistles, but I must say that both the music and the lights add really a lot to the level.
I'm a metalhead so trance/disco is not my cake, but in this case the music is really fitting, Festerd did a great job.
But what Pir did is astonishing.
It's not only the logic but how flawlessly they work that impress.
You did a great thing.
Now you deserve some relax after 2 months going to bed at 2 AM or I'll kick you in the sack

After the above reviews, it is difficult to say something new or different. Like Icarus, this level grabbed me at the very beginning and held until the end. I am delighted and stunned. Congratulation, months of efforts are visible. 10/10

(Constantly hear your voice in my head that repeats "Danger" )

Thank you very much!!!!
effectively after more than two months of work to a level like Vector,Every night,Now I see tunnels,Lights,Explosions,Flash all day and all night! Im Totally Flashed!
My Mind really need Some days of relax! Eheheheh...
I must really thank Festerd_Jester For His great Musics, almost all are his work.
and in a game as a vector,The musics are really really important!
There are many good Music creators in Lbp,for example i love too much Velvet_audio.
but for this type of level I was looking for something of pure electro/Trance Style and Festerd is a master in This Style!
I dont know how he is able to do these songs with a small and simply sequencer with this!
I will not forget the sexy and Great female voices of one of the best known female voices of lbp!
Thank You Lecklack,Thanks Festerd And Thanks to all My Friends who have supported and Help Me.

Wow - this is one of the coolest levels I've ever seen. Seriously, I would have PAID for this game.

I've always been critical of levels that look great, but at their core are simply button mashers. Not so with this one - the gameplay is tuned perfectly, the graphics and special affects are fantastic, the levels are diverse. As soon as I was done playing my son literally RIPPED the controller from my hands so he could have a go.... that has never happened before.

My hats off to you - if it hadn't been MM picked I would have bought a plane ticket to England and picketed outside of MM's offices. Now.... gotta get back in there and see if I can destroy that BRAIN!!!

core complaint; aiming

It's tricky to aim as it doesn't fire where the cursor says it would, i understand why it happens but it's just buzzkill for me. You could do what sackfighter did and have small lined up aim cursors every few layers or so that go into the background to help you see where it's going to fire. Still nice though.

Thanks for the advice.I really appreciate it very much.
I love people who give me advice, suggestion and I also love the criticism when are true and have sense.
I think it always serves to improve because I do not think any of my levels is perfect.
But what I do not like is when a person puts the sad smiley without writing the reason.
I think it's nice to know when something like and why but it's nice to know when it does not like and why.

Yet another level that just baffles me how people have made it. I'm not sure what I spent more time doing: actually playing the level, or just sitting there thinking, "How in the heck does this work?" But, when I wasn't gawking, I was on my toes trying to keep up with the controlled insanity around me.

Presentation: Utterly amazing. Like I said, I am still wondering how you made a level like this. I mean, I've seen the trick done before, but just...wow. This was a completely different beast. To have all of these moving parts (and so many stages with different themes, to boot!) and yet not one glitch or error in it all throughout my session. As far as the actual object design goes, though, everything was top-notch. The different enemy types were great to look at, and the visual effects were well done. My only real complaint with it though is that some enemies were just a bit hard to actually see and focus on every now and then because they blended so well with the background. That being said, once I knew to look for those enemies, it wasn't hard; just that initial noticing of them was tricky.

Gameplay: Ridiculous. Ludicrous! MADNESS!! I was on my toes trying to keep up with everything the whole time. The shooting was fast paced, the rate at which the enemies came out was hectic, and the length of each stage was perfect. The powers up were properly flashy and made you feel like a complete boss. The boss battles were challenging and fast-paced, and you felt accomplished when you took them down. The aiming took some getting used too, and there were times I felt like I wasn't really shooting what I was aiming at, but that wasn't very often.

Sound & Music: I'm a sucker for Festerd_Jester music, not gonna lie. But overall all the music choices were great, and all of the sound effects were well done. I loved hearing "VECTOR STORM!" booming out of the speakers when the game loaded up, and all of the other booming voice cues that sounded throughout the level. That really fit with the overall style.

Overall: A visually trippy, intensely fun shooter that keeps you on your toes from start to finish. Everything is incredibly well polished, and despite some slight issues with aiming and properly seeing enemies, the level easily skyrockets into awesomeness. Gets a "Like" and "Heart" from me, and I've no doubt a few more plays from me.

Just a word of advice. When someone gives an effort to express in words how your level is in detail, it would be nice to respond in some kind of manner. I get sick and tired of too many dam creators thinking they're too good for the less than 1000 hearts or so creators such as myself any response. Being said that, I have never once not responded to any feedback; positive or negative.2012-02-23 08:05:00

Yes,You are absolutely right.
If you look at my lbp.me profile You can see that I am responding slowly but as I can to all the people left me feedbacks.
sometimes it is very difficult to answer all, when you get a lot of feedback and many join and friends requests.
but I can assure you that I always read every comment that people leave me.
I can assure you that I am not certainly one of those people that mount his head for a pick.
I think to be the same as before, because I am a very humble person and I respect every person without looking his hearts or his levels.
I'm just a person with a family, with very little free time that puts all his free time to create with passion something nice and fun for the community, without any kind of ambitions.

Thank you very much for this beautiful and detailed Review.
Well.

About the detection collisions between the laser shoot and the enemies I know about it.
it was the work more difficult I had to do creating vector.
its difficulty is caused by the visual perspective and for the total use of the 3d glitch.
This made me a lot of problems to be solved, but I think I've found a good compromise.
I believe that after a few minutes of play its easy understand how it works.

About the Festerd Songs,I know it's not a kind of music that everyone can love, but i think that this kind of music was the best solutions and a perfect way for giving frenzy to a level as vector.

Thank you..

Sorry for my bad english...

I am hugely amazed with this epic shooter level. This level, I mean game, has some of the best moving extra layers I have ever seen, including the enemies, and the environmental changes throughout each level are radical. The musics, sound effects and voice acting sounded great too. The shooter gameplay is exhilarating thanks to target usage and power ups. This is by far one of my favorite shooter games in LBP history. I'll be playing this level again but this time with a Move control.
VISUALS: 5/5
SOUND: 5/5
GAMEPLAY: 5/5
OVERALL: A yay, heart and positive review

However, it s not impossible to complete it...

Thanks! Have Fun!
