Flight Help for Spider mech

Archive: 4 posts

So right now, I'm currently working on a spider mech.

I'm working on the flight feature, and what it's supposed to do is disable the left stick output to the speed scaled wobble bolts of the leg joints during flight, which is enabled by holding L1. This is so that it's possible to steer it mid flight without the legs flailing everywhere.

So to experiment, I used a Direction Combiner to see if I could mix the both of them to a Not Gate (I'm silly with logic. x.x) I know this is probably the wrong way to do it.

It ALMOST worked, but the problem is that if I *don't* move the left stick, then the legs will move until I do use the left stick. This puts the mech's legs off balance when landing and breaks the leg joints. (I wish it was possible to slap invincible material tweakers to bolts or something...)

I hope I'm not being confusing and said this all right.

Help?

So what I'm hearing is that you want to disable Movement A whenever you use Movement B by activating with L1? Have you tried a switcher?

Place a 2 output selector and wire L1 into one of the inputs. Then wire L1 into a NOT Gate that goes to the other input of the selector. Each selector output should go to an AND Gate with the Left Stick going into the AND Gate, too. Have each AND Gate go to it's respective movement.

So if Input 1 is L1 directly, that would go to flight. If Input 2 is L1 through the NOT Gate, it goes to movement.

I'm sorry if that's not what you meant. But that's what I understood from what you said.
