online levels on release day?

I know when I get LBP on release day I will want to play it before making levels. Is anybody planning to make and release an online level the first day it comes out because I know if your more interested in playing it right away like me we wont have online levels for a couple of days....2008-08-14 21:08:00

Nah, I'd much rather enjoy myself the first day than stress out and make a level. Plus, I don't think great levels are going to be released that day, mainly because people are just barely getting a handle on all of the features.2008-08-14 21:11:00

You'll need to play the first few levels anyhow. I plan to do the creator mode quickly, get all the items, make a few levels & items, get them out soon & hopefully I'll get a good rep early on.

The more you play on the pre-made levels, the more items you are going to get so I probably play the pre-made levels before I make a level just so I could create better levels :2008-08-14 21:26:00

im ganna play through most of the main game before i even try makeing stuff... i want to unlock the materials and such before i make a level without the correct items to make it... i want to unlock every asap. im sure there will be a guide tellign you where everything is in the game (what level, where, and how many people needed) i go thte game for the create, but i need to play it first.2008-08-14 21:29:00

It depends what path you choose. After the first few levels, there's an option to take the creator path, which allows you to unlock items used in the Create side of things, or the Story path, which follows the Storyline. They both have exactly the same levels and everything.

They will probably keep some of the Beta-made levels on the servers, so there will be a few good levels online on Day 1!

But make sure you do get to grips with the tools first, don't rush to have a finished level on day one because it will end up not being fun, and nobody wants to play a level thats been rushed. Take your time and get used to the concept of making levels/ playing leves etc.

Ohhhhh, and of course once I complete the game going down one path I can replay it and take the other path right?

For me, I would play the story for a little while make some levels and contraptions, play some more, unlock some stuff, and make more levels 2008-08-14 22:09:00

like everybody said, a well polished level with very good gameplay will take days, to weeks to make becuase quality takes time... you could whip together a level on day one...but it would suck... trust me, unless it's an mm or a sony release, andy levels availlable day one, WILL stink!2008-08-14 22:14:00

I know, I'm in the minority. I'll probably finish a level about every 6 weeks. It'll be more of a sandbox than a real effort to make great levels. Although I will work hard on the collabs.

Definatly. They say creating a very good level can take over a weekend.

for some reason most of my ideas are minigames and a few levls and i can picture them perfectly in my head and change any way i want, and i can remember them perfectly, its a lot more convenient than changing your blueprints too

oh and i bet there will be great mini games before great levels too *cough*IM GONNA MAKE A SWEET MINIGAME*cough*

I'm just gonna play my **** off to get all the create tools and if I need help where you need 2-4 players to get some of the items/tools then I'm sure there will be people on here that I'll message to jump into a game together.
I would hate to be build one of my masterpieces (modest NOT!!!! lol) only to not be able to do something i know is easily possible with a tool/object I haven't got yet. Then it will be all about Create mostly until some exciting and cleaver things start to appear online.

I'd very much recommend playing through the game for a while before getting stuck into Create. Firstly, because you'll have more to play with when you get in, but more importantly because you'll already have some good ideas on how things work and exactly what you can accomplish.

For those of you who'd rather get your hands dirty quickly, you can jump into Create straight away and unlock all the tools by working through the tutorials.

In the Sam Q&A Docpac just posted it's confirmed that all the campaign levels can be played Co-op. If your mate grabs items that you don't have already they will also be added to your items list

Sam... If I choose to play through the Create first, would that spoil the actual single player? Or are both Creator and Player paths following the same storyline?

Also, what are the tutorials like? I don't think I've seen any videos on tutorials :/

you can play through the create end first but you unlock more stuff to use in create mode after yo play even a little of the single or multi player so go for that first2008-08-23 16:13:00

I think downloading levels should be pretty intuitive. There will likely be a big download button, in which case I don't think anyone will need much of a tutorial.2008-08-24 03:06:00
