A Couple of Suggestions

Archive: 9 posts

1)The "My Profile" button at the top right of the page.

Is this really needed? There's already a button that links to your profile (the one that's your username). I don't think we need 2. Unless it's there for some other reason I'm just not noticing?

2) A sport sub-forum?

Is there a sports sub-forum on this site? Because if there isn't, I think there should be (assuming there are quite a few folk on here who do have some interest in sport). Perhaps put one in the "General Chat" sub forum?

We don't get that many sports topics, an entire sub-forum isn't needed.

Maybe people aren't creating them because they don't know WHERE to create them? 2012-02-15 18:26:00

Indeed. I was kinda surprised that not a single person posted about Super Bowl XLVI when it was on just over a week ago. I thought it was quite a big deal in the US.

Well, the description for the General Chat forum reads "Chat about anything you like, as long as it's appropriate." which seems fairly clear to me.

It's quite a big deal everywhere! I know people here that stayed up and had Super Bowl parties.

Anway, what about my other suggestion, regarding the 2 buttons at the top of the page that do exactly the same thing?

Probably best not to change that, despite the redundancy. Both buttons are no doubt in use, depending on the user, so removing one would just be unnecessarily confusing (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/if_it_ain%27t_broke,_don%27t_fix_it).

Maybe one could be changed to link directly to your LBP.me profile?2012-02-16 14:33:00

Same issue, really.

Interaction design (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interaction_design) suggests that changing long-established UI behavior without a very good reason irritates people, because it forces them to adapt to new interaction patterns for no significant benefit.

It's not something I'd care to change without a consensus from the majority of the active forum users.
