Sack in a Box [1P]

Archive: 11 posts

I've just published a remake of an older level of mine.
Unfortunately an earlier patch made the level freeze the playstaion of anyone that tried to play or edit it so I've had to start from scratch.

It's a one player level where you have to get the sackbots into the correct coloured boxes.
It's a bit of a puzzler but shouldn't be too hard to complete.
You use L2 and R2 to change which sackbot you are in control of.
L3 will toggle a pointer to make it easier to distinguish between the bots.

Played this level the first time around, and it was fantastic... Is this the same puzzles or is it more like a re-mix?2012-02-15 06:34:00

@ JKY
Thanks for letting me know. I've glued it down now

@ Mr_Fusion
A few of the puzzles are new ones but I'd say that most were the same as the original ones or at least very similar to them.

That's good stuff. I guess I'll have to play it again then.

Pretty sure I hearted the previous version.

FYI, you might want to change the link in you sig, as it's going to the old level.

I have to start by saying that levels like this are the type of levels I enjoy most!

VISUALS:
The look of this level is pretty simple, but very well done! I really like what was done with making the look of the level a bit dull while the sackbots are bright. The contrast really sits well and makes this level very intuitive. Even though the level has a very simplistic look to it, I have no complaints and feel that it stands well on it's own visual aspect.

GAMEPLAY:
I love puzzle levels and this one is no exception. I had a blast going through this level and there were a couple times that I was stumped. I like getting stumped in a level. It get's personal and I refuse to let the level defeat me. I wish there were more levels that gave me this feeling. I do like how the difficulty in this level ramped up for the first few puzzles, but then it became a mixed bag of easy then hard, back to easy, then hard... ect. I feel like that the hardest puzzle should be the last one and I felt the last one was pretty easy.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
I enjoyed this level a lot and I think that it is as solid as a puzzle level can get with the exception of the inconsistent difficulty in the later stages. If anyone wants to have some fun for about 30 mins, then give this level a shot!

RATINGS:
Visuals: 4.5 Stars
Gameplay: 4.5 Stars
Overall: 4.5 Stars

VERDICT:
Fantastic Job!

Thanks for the feedback.

Even when I created the first version of this I found it hard to form a steady difficulty increase.
Before publishing I got a few friends to play through it to see how they got on.
There were puzzles that some found easy to work out whilst others would really struggle with them.
The scoreboard shows this too. There doesnt seem to be any particular puzzle that the majority of people gave up on.

I'll queue your level up and I'll play it soon.

Did you remove some puzzles to accomadate the new ones? I'm sure I remember some puzzles from last time that aren't in this one.

Nevertheless, another typically great puzzle level from yourself.
