Please help with Main Menu camera!

Hi LBP friends, just wondering if someone can help me with something?

I'm currently creating my first project... I have a Main Menu where you can currently PLAY GAME or look at the LEADERBOARD . Now I've managed to view the Leaderboard in a nice camera pan movement using a movie camera.. but I'd like to be able to pan back again to the Main Menu in the same fashion, this is the part that's baffling me, because currently when I press the 'O' to go back it just fades out and jumps back to the menu.

Is it possible to pan back to my main menu from the Leaderboard using a camera?

I'm not entirely sure about this, but I think you may need to use another movie camera instead of a game camera in order to get the pan transition.2012-02-11 18:15:00

Hah! Yes! I've connected another movie camera to O which is placed in the main menu but leads me to another niggle! I currently have Sackboy sat out of view from my main menu as clearly I don't want him to be seen when you use the menu, but when I chnge to play mode it always starts on him instead of the camera view I've set...

Any ideas anyone?

I've made a few levels with an intro movie cam and Sackboy spawning off screen like you're doing, and I always have my camera (or sequencer holding several cameras) activated by a toggle. I do this so that I can turn off my intro when I'm testing or working on the level. With the toggle switched on, going into play mode it goes to the camera and not Sackboy. I'm not sure why you're having this problem now, and not before adding another movie cam, but I'd try using a toggle on your first camera.2012-02-12 18:07:00

Thanks for your input guys, I'm sure this is all basic stuff but I'm still learning the ropes, so thanks for your input.

I've hidden my Sackboy behind the main menu of my game with a game camera (which i forgot to add) and a movie camera which switches to another movie camera to my Scoreboard. It's all working now as I wanted it to...

If you need any more help, check out ScorpSkulls tutorial, and also comphermc's tutorial. ScorpSkull has a Menu showcase level which you can copy onto your moon. I did this, and it helped a lot for my last level. I adapted it a bit to suit my needs of course, but it should help you a lot. 2012-02-13 10:53:00
