Disable Sackbot Movement

Archive: 5 posts

Is there a way to disable Sackbot movement, jump, and use of arms(R2 and L2)? Like if I want to emit a missle to the right of the sackbot I want to disable him from grabbing or running into the rocket.2012-02-10 23:12:00

It's not too difficult. First, you'll need two controlinators on the Sackbot. The first is set to reciever, with override Sackbot controls turned off. The 2nd is neither a transmitter or reciever, but does override the Sacbot controls. Wire things from the first controlinator into the second based on how you want the Sackbot to move.

To disable something, have it wired through a microchip, placing just a node on the chip, and then to where you want it. So let's say you want to be able to disable jumping. You'd wire the first controlinator's X into a node on the microchip. Then that node gets wired to the X button on the second controlinator. To disable the jumping, have some logic that turns off the microchip. I use either batteries from a sequencer with a NOT gate, or an inverted TAG sensor. There's a lot of options for it.

So how does the transmitting controlinator on the sackbot effect the controlinator on the hologram?2012-02-10 23:47:00

It just needs to be set to the same color. If you want to disable something that's directly on the transmitting (on the hologram) controlinator, you'll need to use a tag, and an inverted tag sensor.2012-02-11 08:14:00

FWIW, Antikris recently posted a tutorial (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=67081-Controlinator-Trickery) for this. Read the section entitled "Override some sackbot behavior, but not all of it".2012-02-11 20:02:00
