Hello all, Won't be on for a while. My toddler learned through watching how to take discs out and put new ones in. Problem arose when he decided to put in a disc while another was already in there. I managed to get the top disc out with tweezers, but it appears the first disc was shoved in and is now stuck in an unreachable position. I tried to do a quick dismantle, but its seems a bit more in depth than I realized. So, might have to do a Google search or something. So, looks like no LBP2 for me til that is fixed. Even after I get it out, if I can, I hope it will still work. Unfortunately, recent medical issues put getting a new PS3 at the bottom of the priority list for now. Bummer. Well, when we got our two PS+ games for download, I got LBP1. So who knows, if the LBP2 withdrawals become too much, you could very well see a new LBP1 CYMBOL level. Guess we will see what happens in the next few days.

awww man! sorry to hear that cymbol. Hope it works out and you don't have to get a new PS3. Parenting 101: anything you don't want ruined, put out of reach. I had to learn that lesson the hard way. Bye bye Lord of the Rings Special Edition Box set.

My son tried hurting my ps3 once..... Once! There are definitely some videos online on taking a ps3 apart. I had to do it once.... it isn't pretty. Make sure you have a set of really small electronics screwdrivers...

Oh my! That sounds bad! My dog ate my original copy of my "Sonic the Hedgehog" (The one for PS3) when he was 6. (But that game sucked anyway so I don't blame him!) I really hope your can fix up your PS3

did you really require a thread for this...? Umm.. I'm pretty sure he was just letting us know that he won't be able to hop on and play with us for awhile. So in my opinion I think it's rather kind of him to let us know instead of disappearing off PSN for a month or two.

Cymbol, on youtube search for "ps3 disassembly" you can find very usefull tutorials.

I tried to do a quick dismantle, but its seems a bit more in depth than I realized. So, might have to do a Google search or something. To get at the optical disk drive you only need to remove the outer case. The drive isn't even secured, after disconnecting the ribbon and power cable it just lifts out.

Thanks all. I'm going to try and take it apart tonight. Kind of afraid cause everything else works fine, I'd hate to mess things up more. I watched some YouTube vids and saw what I did wrong. Guess you have to remove the hard drive before removing the top. I just have to make sure that removing the hard drive won't force a reformat. I feel bad. I've gotten some nice comments that I couldn't respond to. And, LittleBigPlanet2 Facebook has my Dream Catcher Trailer as their movie of the week and now I'm weeks behind. Hopefully, I'll get back on soon.

Just send it to Media Molecule and add a post it note on it that says "It's CYMBOL's hardrive" They will panic and cradle it like a new born baby and will have it back to you in no time at all
