PS3 Update 4.10

Archive: 16 posts

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I got an email from Sony on various changes to names, some privacy stuff, etc. While that doesn't seem to be what was done in the Firmware Update, it has done some stuff with the PS3 browser. More webpages are able to be shown (Google's buttons are now visible) LBPC works, Facebook redirects to the mobile version, stuff like that. The XMB clock can now sync with the internet instead of slowly getting further away from the actual time.

I was happy when I found out that it wasn't just me who had that problem.

I'd like that too. Don't like my PSN name. It's boring, plus I don't like that it starts with a lower case letter.

I wish they'd purge inactive PSN accounts instead of keeping them in perpetuity. (I'm looking at you, schm0)

Browser works better, but still crashes regularly when attempting to run any modern javascript out there. Sony needs to partner with Mozilla already... there were rumors some time ago that this may eventually happen, but I didn't hear anything else and the browser functionality is still lacking on PS3.

Is this really even a possibility? Has it really been mentioned?

Never been mentioned its just desired by all that have made a user name choice that they regret later.

I think in Japan you can change your name. At least that's my explanation for why a Japanese PSN friend of mine suddenly had a different name.2012-02-09 20:18:00

Is it me, or is the clock still messed up? I set it to GMT, and it's an hour ahead.2012-02-10 11:04:00

Have you got daylight savings turned on?

I did, but now I've put it to "Standard".

You'll be switching it back in about 6 weeks.

So it doesn't do it automatically?

Even 15 year old PCs do that!!

But remember, PS3 is special... Special like that one kid who likes to eat paste in the back of the classroom.
