I'm a huge fan of the Metroid Series, and have had many thoughts about creating a Fan-Game on LBP2, called Metroid Pulse which takes place after Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. I cut the story into sections, so you can learn about Samus's Adventure, and the planet's history. Chroastia- Chroastia was once peaceful and full of life, but, something corrupted the planet, sending it into a great depression. Soon after the planet became corrupted, a shift in time was created, creating a paradox which would inevitably kill off the planet. After the shift and paradox were created, something emerged, a strange dark creature... The Agnoa and the Shard- The Agnoa were an ancient civilization that used to inhabit Chroastia until something they referred to as the 'Great Force' reigned down from the sky. This 'Great Force' killed off most of the Agnoa, but, the remaining Agnoa managed to capture it inside something they called the 'Shard'. Soon, the Shard became too unstable for holding the power of the 'Great Force', and some of it released into the atmosphere. The remaining Agnoa destroyed the Shard along with the 'Great Force', and hid 6 pieces on the planet, not knowing of what would happen; but, this created the paradox. The last remaining Agnoa died, unable to control the Shard. The Dark Beast- The Paradox and Shift in time are controlled by, what the Agnoa call, the Dark Beast. The Dark Beast landed on the planet along with the 'Great Force', and will stop anything that gets in its way. The Dark Beast released a toxic gas upon the planet, corrupting its atmosphere, but, the planet counteracted it, transforming the toxic gas into oxygen. After the failed attempt to kill the planet, the Dark Beast sent out Guardians to keep anybody from destroying the 'Great Force'. But, after the Agnoa captured it into the Shard, the Dark Beast was weakened; and, after it became unstable and released some of the 'Great Force', the Dark Beast used it to create the Shift in time. Though, after the Agnoa destroyed it, the Dark Beast took a piece of the Shard, and created the Paradox. Samus's Mission on the Planet- Samus received, yet, another Distress Call from the Galactic Federation. She gets into action, sets her ship to the coordinates, and goes on her way. After reaching the planet, Samus notices something flying toward the planet. Samus enters the planet's atmosphere, but, her controls go offline, and is sent plummeting to her death. Before crashing, Samus turns on the Emergency landing system, barely saving herself and her ship. During the crash, Samus's upgrades and power-ups were damaged. Samus quickly goes in search of the GF. The Chrona Barren (1)- While searching for the GF, Samus comes upon the Chrona Barren, a wasteland that was once used by the Agnoa as a Sanctuary. Though, after the 'Great Force' landed on the planet, it became too hot and too dead to stay there. While here, Samus finds the first piece of the Shard. Knowing nothing of it, Samus investigates it. While examining it, Samus accidentally activates it, it glows, a portal opens, and Samus enters it. The Chrona Barren's Past- Samus has just entered that past of the Chrona Barren, which is now beautiful and somewhat still living. While searching through the Chrona Barren's Past, Samus encounters one of the last remaining Agnoa, who tells Samus what had become of the planet, and why. The Agnoa asks Samus to help them return their planet back to normal, and Samus agrees. It tells her how she can help and what she will have to do. The Shard Pieces- After destroying the Shard, the Agnoa hid the Shard pieces in the Present, but, after the shift in time was created, the Shard pieces were sent to future and past. Only by retrieving the Shard pieces from the past or future will Samus be able to return back to the present time. If the Shard pieces are combined into one once again, the paradox and shift in time will be destroyed along with the Dark Beast. The Past- When Samus returns to the past, it is very full of life, and few Agnoa still live. While in the past, Samus is able to ask for hints on where the Shard pieces are located. Also, areas are opened that were not opened in the present time. The Future- The future is very dead. The air is polluted, and nothing but the Dark Beast still lives. While in the future, Samus's energy will gradually drop because of the polluted air. Also, areas and creatures are gone that would be there in the past and present times. The Chrona Barren (2)- After finding the Shard piece in the past, Samus returns to the present time. She must now find the future Shard, but, she unable to because she does not have the needed power-ups. While searching through the Chrona Barren, Samus finds another elevator. The Hulbroad Wetland (1)- After entering the elevator, Samus heads to the Hulbroad Wetland, a swamp-like area that has become very overgrown and floaded. While searching through the area, Samus finds a Sanctuary, similar to the one in the Chrona Barren. Samus examines the Sanctuary to find it is still in working condition and should be able to fix the Shard. Samus leaves the Sanctuary in search of a Shard Piece. Samus finds another Shard Piece after searching for a while. She touches it, and enters the portal. The Hulbroad Wetland's Future Samus heads to the future, where the Wetland has become dry, and desolate. The water has turned to sand, and rocks have crumbled over. The air is very toxic, and there are no safe areas. Samus has nobody that can help her. Samus barely survives after finding the Shard Piece. The Hulbroad Wetland (2)- Samus returns to the Present time, where she goes in search of the past Shard. Though, she is unable to get to it at the moment. Samus returns to the Chrona Barren after finding the needed power-up. The Chrona Barren (3)- Samus returned here to find the future Shard after unlocking a new power-up. She searches through the area for minutes, and finally finds it. The Chrona Barren's Future- Samus enters the future of the Chrona Barren, even worse than the future of the Hulbroad Wetland. Here, the temples are destroyed, paths are blocked, and the deadly toxic air is even more impacting. The Shard Piece is inside the Sanctuary, but, before Samus can get it, something emerges. It resembles the Guardians that the Agnoa told about. samus must now defeat it. After defeating it, Samus acquires the Shard Piece and a new power-up. The Chrona Barren (4)- Samus returns to the Present, and she has successfully obtained the two Shard Pieces of the area. As Samus is about to leave the area and return to the Hulbroad Wetland, she notices something fly over... It's the ship she saw flying toward the planet earlier. Samus quickly heads to where the ship was heading... The Hulbroad Wetland (3)- Samus exits the elevator room, and sees the Ship fly over, heading further than the Wetland. Samus heads further into the Hulbroad Wetland after obtaining the needed power-up, and receives a signal from something near-by. It's the GF, and they're still alive. Samus quickly heads to where the signal came from, only to find that she is too late. They've been attacked by Space Pirates. The ship that flew over must have been carrying them. But, they landed in another area of the planet. After the discovery of the GF, Samus heads further and finds an elevator. The Frigid Ridge (1)- Samus enters the Frigid Ridge, a place owned by the Space Pirates that research organisms found on the planet. It used to be filled with life, but, after the time shift and paradox began, everything froze over. This area makes an ideal shelter for the Space Pirates as communication goes offline from the freezing temperatures and high level of winter storms, meaning nobody will be able to track them down. While in this area, Samus's Map, and HUD will go offline. Samus enters their base, and sees the Space Pirates carrying a Shard Piece. Samus has a theory that the Space Pirates could possibly be using the Shard for experimental reasons, meaning, if Samus does not get to it in time, they may destroy it. There is a possibility that Metroids are on board the ship. Samus boards the ship, and must sneak through. If she is caught, there is a chance they might destroy the Shard piece or take it to another area.After many minutes of stealth, Samus finds the Shard Piece. She activates it, and heads to the Past... The Frigid Ridge's Past- Samus has just entered the Past of the Frigid Ridge, where the Space Pirates have not taken over, and nothing is frozen. Samus speaks with another remaining Agnoa. It tells her about how the Dark Beast controls the time shift, and paradox. The Agnoa gives Samus the Shard Piece, knowing that she is the one that will save their planet. The Frigid Ridge (2)- Samus returned to the present, and is captured by the Space Pirates. The Space Pirates steal Samus's power-ups except her Power Beam. Samus must now find her power-ups with only her Power Beam. After searching through the ship, Samus finds her power-ups, but, a Space Pirate is Guarding it. Samus must now kill the Space Pirates, setting off the alarm. After killing the Space Pirates and disabling the alarm, Samus reacquires her power-ups. Samus decides to exit the ship in search of the future Shard. After exiting the ship, Samus notices the future Shard, lying upon a high cliff. Samus finds her way up, and activates the Shard Piece. The Frigid Ridge's Future- The future of the Frigid Ridge is different from the others, it is not sandy, but frozen over, and the air is not as toxic, but the storm creates a hard-to-see area. After many many minutes of searching, Samus finds the the Shard Piece on the Space Pirates Ship, that has become frozen. The Frigid Ridge (3)- Samus has now found 5 pieces of the Shard, and now must head back to the Hulbroad Wetland in search of the final piece. The Hulbroad Wetland (4)- Samus is now in search of the final piece. Samus enters the Sanctuary to place the five pieces, hoping it might unlock something. When she places them, the Sanctuary activates, and a secret room opens, holding the final piece. Samus quickly goes to grab it, but, something emerges... Another Guardian. Samus defeats it, and activates the Shard Piece. The Hulbroad Wetland's Past- Samus now must find the final piece... which is in the middle of the Sanctuary. An Agnoa emerges from the shadows, telling Samus to be careful when placing the 6 pieces together in the present time. Samus knows that something will happen if she fixes the Shard, but, there's not much to lose. Samus gets the Shard Piece, and returns to the present time. The Hulbroad Wetland (5)- Samus quickly places the final piece upon the Sanctuary. Nothing happens... but... the Sanctuary begins to shake. The Shard glows, and something begins to emerge. It's, what the Agnoa described, the Dark Beast. It hits Samus, sending her flying, hitting the wall. The hit from the Dark Beast corrupted Samus's suit. The corruption created the Pulse Suit. The Pulse suit is created by the combination of the Paradox, and a present time organism colliding together. Since the Pulse Suit is a corruption, Samus's energy gradually drops. If Samus does not defeat the Dark Beast in time, she will die from the Suit. Samus and the Dark Beast- Samus fires at the Dark Beast, but the shots do nothing. The Dark Beast begins to steal power from the Shard. Samus has the theory that she might be able to kill the beast by counteracting the effects of the Shard. The Sanctuary is surrounded by mirrors. The mirrors were created by the Agnoa so they can harness the power of the Shard. If Samus can activate all 4 mirrors, she should be able to damage the beast. After Samus activates the 4 mirrors, the Shard glows, and shatters. The Dark Beast is now vulnerable to everything. Samus quickly kills the beast. The Escape- Since the Dark Beast has been destroyed, the planet is returning itself back to normal by destroying the present time, and making it the way it should be. Samus quickly returns to her ship, that has repaired itself from the passing time. samus flies from the planet. The Agnoa thank her for returning their planet to its natural state. Samus knows that she only slightly completed her mission, but tries to forget the events on Chroastia. The Great Force- From scans on the Shards and Space Pirate logs, Samus discovers that the Great Force was a Leviathan from the planet phaaze. And, the Dark Beast was supposedly a Guardian of the Shard to be sure the planet would completely become Phazon. But, because the Agnoa trapped the Phazon into a Shard, the planet never showed any signs of Phazon being there. The Leviathan was once larger than the Shard, but, on impact with the planet, the Leviathan was destroyed, and only the tiny piece was left.
