Emitter Problem, help my poor me :[

Archive: 4 posts

Hellas,
im trying to build a level like the hedgejumping level.

So i have some boxes that travel to the left with a mover.
the boxes get emitted but when they get faster (faster mover on them)
there is a small gap beetween them.

-changing the create effect has no effect (yo)
-changing friction or else had no effect to (yoyo)

Anybody encountered this already?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Do you mean as the speed increases, which you are doing via Movers, they start getting spaced out? Are you using single emitters, or one emitter for each speed level?

If what I'm assuming is right, then I can think of at least one possibility. Let's assume "O" is the emitter, and "-" is the emitted object.

With a single emitter, but the speed is all on the object, here's what happens at the initial speed:

O ----

But increase the speed on the object, without changing the speed they are emitted at, and you get:

O - - - -

I'm under the assumption that this is what's happening for you. To fix this, you need to have the emitter go at a higher frequency as the speed of the object increases. This is easiest to do with multiple emitters, using one for each stage of speed. Another option is you can have the single emitter set to Speed Scale and have some form of indicator telling the emitter what speed to go at, but I have no experience with this, so I can't say it'd work with 100% accuracy.

Also, f i understand correclty too and you are after gapless scrolling or sum, Comph made a tutorial for scrolling backgrounds and at some early point on the following video gives a solution for this.
