Seems like it's very well done, but I have low fps while playing it, so I just played for about 2 mins.2012-02-06 22:55:00

That's odd I haven't had that happen. It's always smooth for me. Thanks for playin it at least and givin' it a go. Sorry you couldn't finish it. I'll play the level later tomorrow and see if I get the same problem. Btw, I just thought of something. I know the green guys take up lots of space and will fill the thermo fast and then yeah low fps happens. Make sure to kill them quickly. That might be the problem.2012-02-14 05:40:00

I'm still yet to play this, but I want to, but it takes ages to load and thenfailed on me. I should mention that I made a community font level a while back that uses an extensive amount of emitters an had a similar issue. It went into cool pages, and then it's plays nearly stopped.

No one (or very few) could actually load it, it was fine when I played it on my earth and if people joined me in my pod they would load in pretty quickly with me. I did some investigating and it turns out that the level file size was 4mb, which is nearly 10 times that of an average level.

When loading it from my earth it was still looking for it on my PS3's HDD, same when people joined me I would host the level to them. I guessed that the LBP servers weren't equipped with downloading levels that large and removed some fonts and got it down to 3mb or so. I tested it with a second account and it took 10 mins to load.

Anyways, maybe check your level size by selecting backup on your moon. I mention this because you talk about emitters and filling thermo.

That's interesting. I checked the size and it's at 4323 kb. So what's that like 4 mb or so. I've already taken out everything that I didn't really need. My old version with the 2 player mode is 4964 kb which is just crazy. I guess I can go in and get rid of some more stuff. The picture room at the start was just made so that players can decide who's playing the contestants and who's spectators but I don't need it now since it's 1p only now. I thought it looked cool so I left it in. The story can go to I guess. I'm one sad sackboy now.

EDIT: Well I went through and got rid of everything I didn't need. Just the actually level was left all extras were gone. Picture room, title screen, story thing, and the up path is gone and the level is now 3704 kb. Without the studio it's 3525. Is it really worth it to get rid of all that cool stuff to make the level a bit smaller? Eh probably I'll redo the logic and make it pretty tomorrow since it's already late and I don't feel like messing with it right now.

Hmmm, split the levels up into the rooms I guess... Or give a heads up at the start that it has a mega load time... The best thing to do is make a second account and load the level, and think to yourself if the load time is something that you would sit throught if you didn't make the stage. Try some different combinations to find a good balance.

If you made the broadcast intro bit a separate level and focus on fast load times it would act as a teaser, chuck in some TV style 'previously on..' maybe a short pre-scripted 10 second clip of a contestant getting killed... and then the next part is 'go through the door to start' and then it loads into the next room as the second level.

It seems like you have gone to a lot of effort for the stage, so maybe give it three levels to breath in... You could be clever about it and put all the story elements into one stage and use the 1's column of the score to do some data transfer maybe.

I think I'll just put the warning in the description and put the intro stuff on a new level. The other stuff sounds good and all but I just don't feel like doin' anymore work on this level. It took me all year to do and I'm kinda tired of bigplanet now. I just want to finish up the trophies and move on.

I especially like the previously on idea though. And I actually thought about using multiple levels at one point but then I put in the custom score counter thingabob that keeps track of your score and I couldn't figure out how to get that logic over to the next level. Besides having tags for each number and then sensors on the next level but the thing uses like 70 numbers so I think the logic would be crazy. But I haven't played around with data transfer and level links and whatnot at all so I don't really know anything about that. But yeah good ideas I'll try and figure something out.
