Updates Freezes my LBP2

Archive: 5 posts

Hey there,
I recently got inspired to pick up the old LBP2 again and work some magic but, when I tried to play the game it insisted that I must update because the game save was of a "newer version", which is impossible otherwise there wouldn't have been a problem.
So I proceeded to start the update that was 10 files long ranging from 1000kb to 600mb, it took all night.

Problem is now, it freezes on the first loading screen every time I attempt to start the game and I don't mean the game just freezes; the whole Playstation itself locks up.
Playstation Updates have screwed something up and I need to know how to fix it.

Any ideas?

Well... my PS3 has been crashing a lot recently... however I don't know if it's related.

Have you left your PS3 entirely for the time off LBP? Maybe it's just your PS3....

(...I have no idea. Please ask a specialist....)

The Playstation hasn't been off the duration of time not playing LBP2.
It was definitely the update the made it freak out.

Weird... maybe the amount of data is giving it overload or something...

But as I said, I have no idea what I'm talking about... maybe one of the more technical people here can help.

Otherwise, I can't really do much else other than scratch my head.

Alright so I uninstalled my LBP2 Game Data and am re-installing it. This is incredibly tense because I'll probably have to wait another 4 hours before I know whether it's shat itself again T_T

By pure chance my internet dropped out halfway through the 10 file downloads and didn't finish downloading the packages. So I tried the game again to see if it had downloaded what it essentially needed and the game ran. I guess I skipped downloading the fail-update. Winning.
