Space ship parts bobbing motion

I am currently designing an overhead space combat level that allows you to choose from 4 different ships. One of the ships is partially made up of metal circles that shift around to change from speed and attack modes. The problem I've been having is getting the circular parts to rotate with the rest of the ship as well as bob up and down slightly while the ship is in motion. I have tried to connect up an advanced mover from the ship's controlinator, and set the advanced mover to have a speed scale input. The advanced mover is connected to three batteries via an or gate with varying power levels to produce varying speeds on the advanced mover. Using this method means that the metal pieces either eventually flies past the ship, or gets behind the ship. I have played with the seconds per stripe on the sequencer, the power levels of the battery, and I have also connected a battery to the ship's main advanced mover with that mover also set to an input action of speed scale, to inhibit the ship from moving at its maximum speed.
