Hidy Ho Sackfolks! I'm here to let you know that Episode 8 of Pocket Moon Podcast is officially live!

In episode 8 you will hear our thoughts on the Greenskeepers movement, the excitement level we see around the forums for LBP Vita, why some people dislike LBP2, and much, much more.

As usual, we have a number of ways for you to listen:

Please let us know what you think of the podcast and give any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks for listening!

Due to me being out of town for the weekend, Tom was able to post the podcast on Saturday but I was unable to post around the forums to let people know about it.

Some LBPers were able to still find the podcast so we already had a response which I figured I would copy into this thread since this one is actually about episode 8:

Loved Episode 8 guys

I actually never heard of the greenskeepers thing until you guys talked about it and I must say that's interesting. The whole criticism discussion was very interesting to hear as well because I have to agree with pretty much everything you guys said! And Taffey, I'm exactly like you. My brain is wired into magnetic keys and pistons and such.

About the length of the podcast, I really don't mind it going over a hour. I'd love to hear you guys talk more about things when you want to, and not end up cutting it short with loose ends.

Thanks so much for the feedback! Tom brought the Greenskeepers movement to my attention and it made for a great topic to discuss. Glad you enjoyed it :-)

Thanks so much for the feedback!

And for the record, we TOTALLY PLANNED our "solution" to the Greenskeepers situation.

Loving the episode so far. I feel the same way as you guys about the Greenskeepers "movement" in that it's an interesting idea, but I think those behind it should have thought through their mission a little further before starting everything. Oh, and what Taffey brought up about the little tricks to make levels work on the PSP is so true. It made me smile that I was creating on the PSP as you brought that up. Anyways, I'm going to take a break, but I can't wait to get back to this later.

*cough* It's still really long *cough*

Thanks Woodbury! So glad that you are enjoying the podcast!

Your sending me mixed messages about the length of the podcast. You said you are so excited to get back to listening which makes me think that you are happy that it is long so that you can get back to it. Then again, you end by saying it is still really long. If you get the chance, could you tell us what your preferred length would be. Obviously, we can't have it be the right length for everyone, and we have already got a few "Please make it longer again", and a few "It's still loooooong" comments, but we still want to know what people are thinking so that we can do our best to make it to everyone's liking :-)

As for Tom's comments on creating on the PSP, he could not have said it better than drawing the parallel that creating on PSP is sort of like having to go through the steps to do the 3D glitch, only you have to do it for everything, and you aren't getting anything special for it.

Thanks for listening!

I didn't even realize the confusing aspect to my comment right away as I wrote that in a rush, but now I'll try to explain. By "can't wait to get back to this later," I meant that even though it was long, I still had something to look forward to later. However, now that you've made me think about it, I guess the length isn't an issue at all. =] If anything, I just found it to drag on a little at some points, but that's just my opinion and should be taken with a grain of salt as everyone is obviously interested in different subjects. So, I guess that all in all the length of the podcast shouldn't be shortened (confusing my self xD).

One suggestion I have that could maybe kill two birds with one stone is to have a type of schedule so listeners know what's coming up next. That way, one can skip to subjects that interest them most and ignore the ones they don't care as much about. For example, you could have a standard schedule for each podcast (if you don't already) where you talk about LBP2 stuff first every episode, then PSP, and then Vita, and so on and so forth. Maybe you guys already do this and I'm oblivious to it, but if not, you should definitely consider it.

I enjoyed the rest of the podcast too. Keep up the great work.

Wow, thanks for going into detail for us! This was the first podcast where we really focused on not sticking to one thing for too long. As we continue this focus, hopefully it won't feel as much like it is dragging for you. What sort of things did you not enjoy hearing about? Non-LBP stuff? LBP Vita stuff? News? I'm just curious because perhaps we need to reevaluate the amount of time we give to certain sections.

As for a schedule, it may not seem like it, but have actually had a pretty detailed schedule for every single episode that Tom makes for us and we revise as the day of recording approaches. The issue is that we don't really stick to the amount of time that we spend on each section. It would be pretty difficult to stick to a specific timing schedule since on one day there may be a lot of news but not many community creations to talk about, and then on another day it will be the opposite.

So, I guess what I am trying to say is that there is actually structure, but there are not stringent time limits tied to the different parts of that structure. You can hear us transition from part to part in the podcast when you hear music play in the background and you will hear us introduce the next section. I'll try to remember to make it more obvious on the next podcast when we transition, and maybe as we make it more obvious, it will become easier to pick out exactly what is going on :-)

first off, I love these. This was a great episode guys. I didn't get to it when I said I would because I downloaded it at work and left my dang USB in my work PC. Doh! I listened to it last night and enjoyed all the topics covered and you're right, you could have gone a lot longer on some of those topics, but I think it would have pushed it too long. The hour flew by and left me wanting more, which is good. You want the listener wanting more and eager for the next episode.
I think you handled the topics well and agree 100% about the greenskeeper movement. I think you were spot on with your arguments and I may "borrow" some of your comments. Ok, I'll out right plagiarize them. Anyway, great episode guys and I look forward to the next one.

Wow! I just realized that you are xerorogue elsewhere :-) Nice!

Anyway...

Thanks for checking out the podcast, biorogue, and thanks even more for the steady stream of feedback you give us on these! It is really helpful for us to get an idea of what people are thinking of each episode.

It's good to hear that you liked the length. I can certainly see what you mean by the fact that it is good to end a podcast leaving the listener wanting more so that they are looking forward to the next. That is a great point! Glad you enjoyed our Greenskeepers talk as well :-)

Thanks biorogue! Really helpful feedback there - it is very much appreciated. Slowly but surely we're getting this thing dialed in.

Which reminds me - we'll be recording the next episode in about 10 hours. Any last minute questions?

aww man! I missed my opportunity to ask questions. shoot! Here's a question for next week then. H4H? just kidding. got nothing. Oh, Taffey, I can attest to what AFP was saying about Psychonauts. If you can find it, get it. It's really good and one of those very underrated games. The only negative about the game is that there should've been a sequel but the last I heard Tim Schafer said no, not going to happen. He's the genius behind Grim Fandango, one of my favorite PaC games and Brutal Legend. Anyway, looking forward to the next episode guys.

Slowly but surely we're getting this thing dialed in.
I think you've got it. Just please don't pick up any advertisers. I'd hate to be listening and hear, "This segment brought to you by Quaker State, one tough motor oil. You know AFP, my car was making a sound the other day and when I took it to my mechanic he said the oil I had been using was a cheap, unreliable oil. That's when he recommended Quaker State, and now my car runs smooth as a baby's bottom. Ok, and we're back. Let's talk about...."
Nah, please don't do that.
