Waterworkz (Fixed and remastered)
Archive: 30 posts
Hey all! Long time no see, the last time I visited, I had posted a level called Waterworkz, which people liked, but pointed out some key bugs, and a problem that made them unable to complete the level. I promised to remaster it, and I believe I have now fixed almost* every gamebreaking issue, sorry for the long wait. The lock was also made more easy to understand now. I you've tried it before, I urge you to give it another play to see the complete version, it should be worth your while! Let me know what you think I need plays to try and get this a chance of being noticed, since it doesn't rise with a republish, and its previous reputation was just kind of meh. ********************************** Made part below more intuitive, fixed stuck bolt http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46/the-invisible-man/waterworkz2.jpg ********************************** Enjoy!! http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46/the-invisible-man/waterworkz.jpg http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46/the-invisible-man/waterworkz5.jpg http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46/the-invisible-man/waterworkz4.jpg http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46/the-invisible-man/waterworkz3.jpg http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46/the-invisible-man/waterworkz6.jpg Here's the URL if the above doesn't work for some reason: http://lbp.me/v/7fwfw2 If you encounter any more glaring issues or bugs, let me know, and I'll work on them as soon as I'm notified. http://lbp.me/v/7fwfw2 | 2012-01-28 03:06:00 Author: hellfire Posts: 78 |

thanks!! I just republished an even more polished version three minutes ago, if you haven't played it yet. If you have, thats cool, I just added some more visual tweaks. NEW PICS ARE UP PEOPLE! | 2012-01-28 22:13:00 Author: hellfire Posts: 78 |
UPDATE: I just republished the level with a fixed version of the 3 directional lift that had the warning on it. It is now impossible to screw that part up! Thanks to whoever left me the message regarding that! | 2012-01-29 21:51:00 Author: hellfire Posts: 78 |
Wow! Being completely honest, I never really expect much out of most of the levels posted as "fixed", but I gave it a play and it was surprisingly good! I like the underwater segments, and the gameplay varies nicely. Your use of lighting is awesome btw, loved the way you fit the colors, how did you get the pipes to be so green underwater? Can't get mine to do that. My one tiny nitpick is that I was able to open the tram during the tunnel ride, and smash all the hanging lights, but that didn't do anything detremental to the level itself, just a quirk. Still, kudos, can tell it took you a while. Definetly deserves more than the few plays it has now. | 2012-01-30 18:04:00 Author: Unknown User |
Looks good, I will try it later. You say it will be worth my while, I believe you. | 2012-01-30 19:17:00 Author: Unknown User |

The lighting in the underwater tubes was made by a backbone of metal shaped to the pipe, on which I have green fog lights glued, and then put to the back layer. That way you only see the glow, and not the lights at the one part where it's all tubes. Tweak the level color adjustment slightly towards warm to get a better hue. And lol at the tram, I'll add a sensor next weekend preventing that. | 2012-01-30 21:10:00 Author: hellfire Posts: 78 |
Wow what can I say... I played this not too long ago today and was pleasantly surprised at this. The underwater sections and lock pick puzzle was really good. What surprised me even more is that you don't even have any hearts and that just won't do... so hearts to you <3 and your level <3. I don't have a clue what your level was like before your new improved one but I didn't have any problems with it. You're yet another hidden creator in the saturated community of over 5 million levels. For someone that doesn't have any hearts until now, it was a pleasant surprise to play. It's still early days but it deserves more plays. I'm sure good things will come from you, there's potential & hence why you're now on my hearted list. | 2012-01-30 21:50:00 Author: LittleBigDes Posts: 920 |
I really have a thing for underwater levels for some reason, and this was no different. The underwater sections were VERY well done. They simply looked great. The part that really surprised me however, was the lock pick section at the end. Thats something you really don't see in any other level. Gave your level a heart, and also gave you a heart, since you are yet another hidden creator that delivers good content. | 2012-01-30 21:59:00 Author: DreJ1212 Posts: 240 |
Aww, that made my day guys! Thanks for the compliments and encouragement! It means a lot! Sadly, since this was first published in October, i can't even find it anywhere on regular lists. So I need either way more plays or new places to promote this as well. Anyone know any more places to post in hopes of plays? *and someone gave me a frowny face, little *******. | 2012-01-30 22:16:00 Author: hellfire Posts: 78 |

Yes I saw that frowny face and it makes no sense but then again a lot of frowny faces in the community makes no sense. A lot of the time it's due to others not knowing or appreciating how much it takes to make a decent level or down to skill or not liking a challenge or because they die at a certain point. Or they could be very young or not have the patience after they die a few times. You can't do a level where you walk from one end to the other to a scoreboard with nothing in between, you have to at least have some gameplay and challenge to it. So don't take any frowny faces too seriously as good and bad, ying and yang exist together. As for advertising I can let a few friends know and get the ball rolling and you could try a few other fansites and the official Sony one. UPDATE: Sent you a visitor message with a few links. | 2012-01-30 22:25:00 Author: LittleBigDes Posts: 920 |
It'd be awesome if you could refer it to people you know, anything as long as it gets the word out there! And Sony has an official fansite? I didn't know that... Do you have the URL? Google isn't showing anything. And you're right about the frowny faces, though I try to make my levels more about the experience, and less about challenge, so I hope he wasn't dying too much. Ah well, no matter | 2012-01-30 22:33:00 Author: hellfire Posts: 78 |
I just played this spectacular level and all I can say is Bravo to you! VISUALS: The visuals are top notch in this level and you have a knack for details. The underwater parts looked fantastic and played really well. Your entire look flows so well and really puts the player in the setting you have created. There was not a part of the level where I was not in awe by the visuals. This is a really good looking level and you deserve kudos as a creator for what you have done with this one. GAMEPLAY: Like the visuals, the gameplay has a unique flow to it and is extremely fun. If there is only one issue I have with this entire level (and it's a pretty minor issue at that) is that this level might just be a little too easy. I pretty much just walked (and swam) right through it without any trouble or challenge. Not that it being too easy ruins it, but I do feel it would have been nice to be challenged a bit more. FINAL THOUGHTS: I would have to say that other than the difficulty issue, I cannot find another thing about this that I wouldn't prefer. This was a refreshingly good level that was worth the time, the play and the Heart! Do yourself a favor and play this one if you haven't played it yet. RATING: Visuals: 5 Stars Gameplay: 4.5 Stars Overall: 4.5 Stars VERDICT: Fantastic Job! F4F - The House of 1000 Skulls | 2012-01-31 03:39:00 Author: xiSiCx Posts: 125 |
Your level is on the queue for me, I will surely have to play this when I get from classes tomorrow around noonish I am a sucker for a good little puzzle and/or underwater levels XD | 2012-01-31 03:43:00 Author: MangoLove Posts: 7 |

It makes me so happy when people review and like my level. I have it promoted on a few other sites as well, hope it can drag in some new plays. This is not the first level I ever created, but it is the first one I published for real. I try not to let anything get published unless it's high quality. (There are two other levels on my planet from when I was an amateur creator But they're getting deleted, they're not a good representation of my work. I've added your level to the que as well, but I can't play it till friday, hope thats ok, I'm just swamped with exams this week. Cant thank you enough though for your review!!!<3<3<3 | 2012-01-31 04:42:00 Author: hellfire Posts: 78 |

It seemed like it might have been more complicated. hey, do you mind much if I "borrow" the lockpick idea for a level? Don't worry, I'm not a good creator anyways, I doubt I'll make it succsessfully anyway if your worried about me stealing your thunder so to speak. | 2012-01-31 18:05:00 Author: Unknown User |
The level is good, i liked It. It reminded me of dead space when i was working on the circuitry. Though I think it lacked cutscenes to guide me along, and keep me entertained. The gameplay and visuals were pretty nice though. My rating Gameplay: 4/5 Visuals: 4.5/5 Story: 1/5 | 2012-01-31 18:44:00 Author: lilballer22 Posts: 63 |

Queued, will give it a try tomorrow. | 2012-01-31 23:26:00 Author: arsenalfan_1995 Posts: 229 |
I have to say, that was quite the level! I haven't played anything like this in a long while. The platforming brought me back to LBP1, and even some of my old abandoned levels. It was fun, not too difficult, and creative. I especially liked the little circuit board puzzles you added. The scenery was great too. My only complaint about that is that I personally would have used a different material choice, but that's just me. Everything looked good. Overall, the level was a very nice one to play after tons of gimmicky try-hard levels. It's simple yet effective. I liked it . | 2012-02-01 19:06:00 Author: Sackpapoi Posts: 1195 |
Glad you liked it! Makes me happy when I get good reviews like that! Just as a matter of curiosity, what didn't you like personally about the material choice? It doesn't bother me, I'm always interested in other peoples viewpoints. | 2012-02-01 20:53:00 Author: hellfire Posts: 78 |

You do know I gave that lockpick mini game away as an ace level prize right? All you have to do is hook it up to your liking, if you need help, let me know. It's meant to be used, thats why it's a gift! Maybe I should clarify the level prizes: Complete level: you get the sackbot worker 100% items found: you get the two control panels I used for the level Ace level: you get the lockpick mini game, unwired, with instructions in it's description how to hook it up. The two in level items are the motion activated holo-arrow, and the tram car. One is above the pipe on a little shelf in the drain room, the other is in the underwater part with the lightning turbines. Hope this helps some people get the complete experience. | 2012-02-01 21:01:00 Author: hellfire Posts: 78 |

I guess I'll be replaying the level again Beats having to build it all myself, that's for sure! To think I would have already got it if I didn't die by knicking that electric rotors... >_> P.S, kudos on getting to the cool level page If your up to help me for some lighting stuff, I've pm'd you my PSN, not sure if we're ever on at the same time though. | 2012-02-02 18:01:00 Author: Unknown User |
Okay, im sorry I am so late with this review, school has literally been beating me against a wall... Anywho, your level is amazing! Flawless to be honest, everything flowed together perfectly and worked to a tee. Your design and atmosphere is also dead on, and it fit your level concept well. The puzzle parts were amazing! I cannot choose which one was my favorite, the digital like puzzle or the lock pick puzzle. You put some serious effort and thought into this and it obviously payed off. Another compliment is that you are one of the creators who can do "water segments" right. I do not like water segments that just have me wondering aimlessly around and slowing down my gameplay (and my fun factor too!), but you kept it streamlined and to the point, so I commend you on that! I hearted you in game as well, and honestly, I am looking forward to playing future levels you publish! <3 5/5 stars! | 2012-02-03 03:43:00 Author: MangoLove Posts: 7 |

Can you believe that this got shot down the first time I posted it? I've made so many improvements, I think I've done 15+ republish, but I always take everyones feedback and make my level better. In a sense, it's little big planet central that made the level so awesome, by pointing out so many things that I could do better. All I did was take the suggestions and make them a reality. Even the little comments people made, like "this one little dot here wasn't flush", I still take into account and change. For this to go from disliked to loved, and for it to jump to the cool levels page, it is probably the best thing ever right now! <3 Thanks so much for the play and the heart, I can only hope it gets more attention in the future. Even if it weren't to happen, it's still way farther than I ever thought it would get, after all, it was first published in October. P.S: I admit, when it first moved, I thought a mod had deleted my thread, so I reposted it to little big network. Then I noticed the newest post on this forum was Waterworkz, and I clicked on it and found it was here! Felt quite stupid after that lol. | 2012-02-03 04:21:00 Author: hellfire Posts: 78 |
Just played this level, it deserves alot more plays than it has. The puzzles were great, and the level itself was quite fun too, my only suggestions is maybe add a bit more challenge. Great job, "yay"ed and hearted. F4F in my sig | 2012-02-04 17:43:00 Author: arsenalfan_1995 Posts: 229 |
Thanks for the feedback!! I'll defientely get to your level. It may be a while though, as I have 3 exams this week, and am going to a place without interenet access over the weekend, so it may not be till next week. hope that ok! And yeah, I noted the lack of difficulty, I'm incorporating more challenge into the next level I'm in the process of creating. | 2012-02-06 15:21:00 Author: hellfire Posts: 78 |
