How do you make a jetpack without a chain? (embarassed..a little..but I have only had lbp - of any description for about three months now)

Ive only got one in my toolbag....I can change the chain length to zero, but that just has then wizzing around my head for a while and then settling down in front of me. small pack on my back and big set on my front. that may be a glitch I dont know, but its not what I want. Also, if you haven't yet, you need to get the Creator Pack 1. It's free. I'm pretty sure I have that...why, is there another jetpack in it??

Initially, LBP1 did not have a tetherless jetpack, it was released later in the pack. Try playing through the levels in the creator pack again, I think the jetpack is in a prize bubble.
