Fallout 3

Hey guys I just started the game, and just wanted to say hey, those of you that have it, completed it, finished it, want it, need it or else you will die, pitch in. Just share experiances, funny parts, where you are, reviews, and everything else, etc.

To start with me: currently i think it is REALLY BIG, and a little daunting, but i am sure that it will get better later, I am a level 4, and just defeated that beheamoth with the fat boy (with those guys that use the power armor), and i have dissarmed the nuclear bomb, and killed that guy going trying to make me blow up the town. I am trying to get Positive Karma up to max level, drop down to nuetral, and then down to negative (do not know yet if i have to start back from the Very beginning to do each, but i guess that when you guys pitch it, it will show up somewhere) I think it is really good and is only going to get better, what do you guys think about it?

Cheers!

I'm not out of the Vault yet. And yes, I do have it.

LBP has been a little too fun.

i love it, some of the music in the game is awesome (butcher pete). some people find the exploring part boring, but i love running around the wasteland just killing random pockets of super mutants and rescuing people.2008-12-29 05:52:00

Fallout 3 is great; but it has its downsides. When things are going well, it's a great, imaginative game that's fun to play. But when you're stuck, all the flaws come out. The level design may seem great at first (and it is; it's massive, and very detailed), but when you get down to it, you're essentially going straight to your objective only to be blocked off by random buildups of concrete - from there, you're stuck going around to find another way.

It's fun, but I can't help but feel like there's really no point, and I have no direction. You're kind of thrown into a situation with just a generic feel for what you're supposed to do. Most of the time, I walked around aimlessly and it turns out the way I was supposed to go was so simplistically dropped right under my nose, it wasn't even considered at first. Maybe I'm just slow, but some things should've been easier to find or figure out.

Besides that, it's glitchy (I got stuck several times, and the dialogue can get scratchy - as well as occasional freezing), which does get pretty annoying after a while. Not really glitchy, but the third-person perspective is terrible and just poorly-animated and ugly.

I might sound really negative right now, but I really do like the game. Like I said, when you know where to go and what you're doing, the exploration can be fun and the shooting (both real-time and VATS) is as fun as any other shooter out there. Plus, you have to appreciate the the effort put in by the creators - the game is massive, and I'm finding new things all the time. It's also a lot harder than some might think to incorporate RPG elements into a first-person shooter.

I'd recommend it. Maybe it's just me, and the small things get to me. Still, if you're easily bothered by a bunch of minuscule things, it might not be the best purchase for $60. Not the mention the rough difficulty at first which almost deterred me from finishing the game.

I like how you can target certain parts on the body, in VATS and it would have different effects on the target, Nearly towards, level 6 right now, and i really want to know where his father is, (PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL IT FOR ME)

I blew up Megaton, never found the fatboy :/

I'm on neg karma, which is great, 'cause I like to frag innocents in the streets..

It really is quite hard at times though.. When I was trying to find the way to Rivet City, I had to pass about 300 super mutants on the way, and I couldn't handle it, so I ran past like a little girl and got both my legs crippled :?

100% finished fallout a while ago on the xbox360,

there are a few level design problems especially around the mountain parts.. (there is even a piece of mountain without a collision)..
and it sometims bugs a lot.. like when resting outside.. you can end up in a conversation with someone when you are done resting.. Ive even had the professor from rivet city talking to me when I was near Pr. Eden's bunker.

on a sidenote:
Dont use the instantly gain another level perk..
its useless..
unless you just became level 20 and want to crash the cap to level 21

anyways, one of the best games ive played this year.
nuka cola mirelurks for teh win

Ive played almost all realeased xbox and most ps3 games in europe..
and if you want a list of what to buy:
mgs4, fallout3, LBP
special note: Prince of persia (though waaaaaaaaaay 2 easy)

game you shouldnt buy:
Sonic unleashed..

I wont go into details,
unless you people want a whole 8 page rant over how bad the game is.
from a leveldesigners point of view..
its the worst game this year.

Another thing I forgot to mention that really bugs me is the whole chain reaction of quests. At some points, I forget what my main quest is.

Here's an example: At one point, I had to find a certain vault in order to get gear to work on Project Purity (this is the main quest). But wait! I can't just go straight in the vault, I have to find some caves nearby and find a second way in. So you get to the caves, but wait again! They won't let you through until you bring something (or someone) to them. So you go to find them in another city - but wait! They won't let you in the city until you go get THEM some people.

And I'm sitting here, thinking, "Can I just play the game?"

I dont actually have it, but I'm on a kind of game buying spree here 'cos I'm in america where new release games are roughly $75 AUS instead of $110... Should I get it? I kind of have a faint heart hehe. I like RPG's but dont like really long traveling quests. I haven't played any of the fallouts before so I dont know what to expect. Zombies suck when fighting because in other games they like NEVER go down (For me at least). Also, I enjoy games with a diverse weapons list and not just very generic guns. Grenades are AWESOME in m opinion and grenades with special attributes are Teh BombsOrz. Once again, Should I Get It?2008-12-29 21:12:00

I see your point and in a way that is the game you know? I mean thats how those things work a lot of the times I never really felt that way but when i got there at that point i think i already raided paradise falls and saved the kids. I tried doing every side mission possible

To LittleBigMe:

YES!

And also: There are plenty of ways around doing some of the "chain" quests, either by bribing or lying or threatening your way through them rather than trudging through the wastes for them.

That sounds AWESOME. Also, if I dont like the quest I can just shoot the guy :3. Though that WOULD give me bad karma. Too bad the computer cant learn NOT TO GIVE ME CRAPPY QUESTS. How much of a sandbox is this game anyway?

P.S. Ill probably get this game tomorrow thanks to flaks post. +Rep 'cos you were very helpful to me :3.

Yeah it is pretty big, good luck getting platinum though, you need to get to level 20 for neutral, positive, and negative karma (REALLY IMPORTANT: do you need to do 3 different run throughs to get this done, or can you do it all in one run?), So far i am a level 8, and am working on the main quest, the "Waters of Life". spoiler about dad below.

You sure you want to open this? It has information about the dad. Do not do so if you do not want to know
I can not believe what happend to the dad, i was sad, and really mad at the same time, why would they not let me open the door

I recommend Fallout 3 to just about anybody who likes a good game, personally I love it, I played through (most) of Oblivion when I first got my PS3, so it was a no brainer to pickup Bethesda's new game. Of course, I also have friends who found Oblivion to be completely boring, but who can't stop playing Fallout 3.

Yes, it can get long if you make it that way, but give or take, if you don't take any of the extra quests, the game takes about twenty hours, give or take, with about eighty more hours of exploring and questing there for those who want it. It's all about choice here.

I've played through and beaten the game with the Pip Boy Jesus status, and I'm trying to go through and get uber negative karma, but it's been tough. It seems like no matter how many bad things I do, the best I can manage is neutral... guess I'm not trying hard enough. Also, my tip, it's almost always to your advantage to go straight for the kill with a vats shot to the head, especially if you have enhanced critical strikes. Unless of course you'd like to disarm your opponent first, or take out his arm, and ability to aim first.

hmm weird i found it extremely easy to be bad or good. if you nuke megaton and are just a complete prick to people or kill innocent people and be a slaver and what not it should be easy to be bad (maybe your just a nice guy ) when i discovered you could shoot their gun and disarm them i thought that was pretty cool

One run, you play for good karma and save before the trophy levels then lower for neutral and bad karma leveling and reloading for their trophies then continuing with the good karma.

oh hey great tip ^.^, but i have already passed level 8 so i will have to do nuetral from start or evil from start, again, and go from there but hey its a fun game so no worries (or i could delete the patch and do the rank up glitch thing and then turn it back on so i can get the trophy for level 8, i think that is what i am going to do to make things go faster)

Cheers!

EDIT: just had the craziest battle, there were 3 super mutant guys, one regular, one brute, and one master, the regular guy had a assualt rifle, the brute had a minigun, and the master also had an assault rifle. (FRICKEN CRAZY, i do not know how i made it out alive) so i went in to V.A.T.S and killed the regular guy, and used my last shot to try and dissarm the brute with the minigun. well i killed the normal guy, but i missed the minigun, and he started to spin it and i was freakin out at this point. i was ran to cover, but got turned in to Swiss cheese on my way there, and i crouched behind it, just before i crouched behind it i only had like 5%-10% health, and just as i crouched i saw a bullet fly over my head (whew), and so when my action points were restored i decided to try and take out the brute with the minigun, so i stood up, went in to V.A.T.S dissarmed the minigun and 2 shots to the head took him down with the second being a critical hit. that left one, the master, these guys are really annoying. of course he started walking over to me, so i left myself behind cover and waited for him, although he did not come on the side i thought he was going to come on, so i turned around allready being fired at, and went in the V.A.T.S i was able to get 3 shots in to this guy in the head, but that did not bring him down so as soon as i exited i fired my heart out jumping all over the place like a gazzel, and i took him down, afterwards i looked at my health bar... 0.1%-3% health left, one of the craziest moments i have ever had in this game. it gave quite a rush though but fricken scary at the same time. Have any of you had any of those crazy experiances, or battles, or just plain epicness?

Cheers!

Edit: Rabid Coot, thanks for the help there my friend, i am working on 14 for all 3, So far i have done the good and the nuetral, except the funny thing is, i can not get 20 experiance, or else i level up so i have to steel A LOT of stuff, so it is fun, and Charon is definitely good to have around, but one thing i found is that you can kill people with a gun while they are sleeping and you get no exp but you only get bad karma, so there is something to think about if you can not take any more exp but you need more bad karma.

Cheers!

Edit: Hey guys, i am doing all of the quests and, some of them are actually more fun, (especially now that i have Charron around who nearly kills them and i take the last shot before he can kill it, netting me more Exp, i am finding that it is easy killing monsters and all kinds of stuff now, He is one of the best followers in the game, Are there any other really good ones? if so let me know because i want to go and get them.

Although my main question is: When you complete the main story line, can you go back with your character and do more quests, i know what happens to your character, but were the developers nice enough to allow you to continue after the fact that you completed the last mission if so then i am not finishing the main story for a long time, and going to go and do EVERY other quest i can find, getting all of the bobble heads, and creating all of the objects and all of that jazz. This really concerns me, because if i go ahead and do the last mission, and they raise the level cap i would have to start over.

Cheers!

Edit: Hey guys i just got a thrilling idea, what if you were to use the "Here and Now" perk when you reach level 20, would you get yourself past the level cap and to level 21, granting yourself another set of upgrade points, and maybe the ability to level up past the level cap. (is there a level cap? i heard that there is one, but i do not know yet as i have not reached 20 yet. well i guess i will be the one to test it out unless someone already did)

Cheers!

But not as cool as the first two when you could obliterate their crotch.

@rainfire:

I've had many clashes with Super Mutants, but They're so thick, I was circling one and I killed it with a repellant stick, and it [the stick] took no damage whatsoever!

I do have this game, but have not played it since I got deeply into LBP. I think I was level 8 or so with good karma, and was mainly ignoring the main quest.

I do like it more than Oblivion though. It's got a more... constant feel about it. Oblivion was just a bit too slow for me.

Maybe some day I will get back into it.

man killing guys is getting SOOO easy, if you know what i mean, and i used to be afraid of the caves, but now that i have Charon with me, and the radio turned on with the light music (it actually helps) its like a sweet breeze, right now i am looking for Nuka-Cola Quantoms (or is it Quantum, no clue) and i do not know where to look, the factory was a dud as it only gave like 3 bottles. And i do not know where else to look, but for now i will do the quest Blood Ties, it is one of my last, so yeah off to do that, bye

I just reached level 15 on my Fallout 3 Character, and have about 2 quests left that i can do (i can not do the slave one, because i have good karma, and i already wasted all of the slavers there to save the slaves, yay good karma) I have the Nuka Cola Challenge left (I need 10 more bottles, and i do not know where to get them) and i also have Agatha's Song, No clue how or where to get this one, and i have Vault 101 Emergency thingy (so many tunnels i can not remember where to go hahaha). If any of you could offer any help, it would be nice. Oh and has anyone tried to use the here and now perk for rank 20 to break the level cap?

Yes, you can break the level cap by one whole level.

If you need to answer the vault 101 emergency, simply set your HUD back to vault 101, it's pretty much in the middle.

What I choose as skills depends on the character. If I'm going to have a sneaky little devil I'm going to concentrate on Melee, Sneak, and Lock Picking. If I want a scientist, I'm going to concentrate on Science and Small guns. Etc etc.

I'm trying to get all the trophies for this game.

i dont think its possible. i had my intelligence maxed out and im level 19....i have a lot of 100 skills mainly picked some utilities. i have 100 energy weps. 100 repair 100 science 100 medical. stuff like that but to get all 100 you would need to get the double point for books and find them all and event hen i dont think you can get 100 in all

I am so into this game right now, even more so than LBP, so therefore it's holding back the progress of my level.

Oblivion was cool, too, but it had many flaws (especially with the levelling system). I find F3 to be much more playable

Was just playing the game and noticed something fascinating. I was at a certain point in the main quest, though I'll keep the below account completely spoiler-free.

Well firstly I tried getting to a certain town on foot and forgetting to save and kept dying. There really should be a quick-save button (I don't like waiting for an hour (in-game) every time I want to save quickly). Anyway after my third time I tried quick travelling but that didn't work out so well for a certain reason (spoiler-related).

So I decided to quick-travel back and there was another problem (spoiler-related) so I decided I'd try to walk again.

(Below are small parts of the game as far as I know and I wouldn't consider them spoilers... they have no impact on the main quest.)

So I come upon these slavers so I kill them and freed the slave. After that I went towards my destination, and after cresting the first rise and going down I came upon a man and his robot, which I fixed for him in exchange for some mentats and some energy cells. Afterwards I died and reloaded.

The next time I went down the hill I met some guys looking for "Oasis" and not wanting to share the loot with me decided to kill me... which didn't actually work out too well for them. Anyway afterwards I died again and reloaded.

The next 2 time I met 3 nice ghouls looking for the Underworld.

And the 5th and final time I met 3 fairly competent hitmen trying their very best to put me 6 feet under.

Anyway basically my point is I can't believe how random the game is. That the exact same game save can have 4 different scenarios in 1 place at 1 time, changing each time you load it is incredible. It also means that I think it's highly likely that you'll find new things each and every time you play it.

Well that's just a tiny piece of my gameplay so far. I gotta say it... epic game!

i dont think its possible. i had my intelligence maxed out and im level 19....i have a lot of 100 skills mainly picked some utilities. i have 100 energy weps. 100 repair 100 science 100 medical. stuff like that but to get all 100 you would need to get the double point for books and find them all and event hen i dont think you can get 100 in all

Actually, totally possible, if you find all of the skill books and all of the bobble heads, by the time you reach 20 you would have spent 303 points on your levels and you would have even had a 53 point buffer if you were not able to find all of the skill books, but this would take an enourmous amount of work to find all of them so it is possible just not probable.

Cheers!

Hey Rainfire - about your search for the nuka-cola quantums... did you find the shipping manifest in the nuka-cola factory? I have just started the quest myself and am heading towards the factory now, and the girl (or maybe the guy who wants to get in her pants) mentioned that if you can find the shipping manifest in the factory that will tell you where the quantums have been shipped to, so will make it easier to find them instead of just searching randomly.

It's an awesome game and I've only just started really, havn't found any followers yet but i'm having a blast on my own. I'm good (disarmed the bomb) and I found tenpenny tower on my way to the nuka-cola factory (no burke there tho) anyway, I'm gonna let the ghouls in to teach them all a lesson! hahahahah! see how they like be exterminated...

i found help with that but i only find like 5-6 of those in each manifest location only giving me half of what you need, oh and by the way do not give all 30 to the guy, if you complete the quest like that you get neg karma, so sadly you have to give to the girl but you can cash in any of the ones you have to him to get a sweet boost of cash. Anyways i found help on the quantums. at the Fallout 3 wiki, there are detailed guids for EVERYTHING in the entire game, trust me on this one.

Here is the link. Fallout 3 Wiki (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3)

I found it while back when i was searching for the quantums. and there is a few fan sites there too, (obviously nothing compared to ours), but in it are the forums (just click on the official Fallout 3 forums link at the bottom) in that is a tips and tricks section, go to that and then at the top of the page, pinned is a really good guide for your character, and all of that jazz (it is where i got the information that you can get all of your skills to 100 and the exact numbers needed to get there)

I hope you find it helpful.

Cheers!

P.S. I am now a level 18

Well I explored the nuka-cola factory last night. It was fun and I have a feeling that you may be able to activate the bottling machinery to get more quantums. I activated it once, but then it got stuck giving me only three bottles. But there is a maintenance droid which you can activate at a different part of the level. I activated him, and he seemed to be heading off to fix something (he said he detected a threat to production or something) but then he noticed me and asked for my employee ID which I didn't have so he attacked and i had to give him a few shotgun blasts to the face which stopped him pretty well.. lol... but my thought is, if you can find a nuka-cola employee id somewhere, you could activate the maintenance droid and have him fix the broken bottling plant, then you can have as many nuka-cola quantums as u want!!!

I also tried taking some empty bottles to the glowing radioactve pool of what looked like nuka-cola quantum and filling them up Zelda style, but that didn't work.

Ah umm... sadly no you can't you can not, there are only about 193 in the game (about 70 of them are in the lady's fridge ) oh and that ID thing, i passed that guy and he is friendly and he gave me the access code to the computer, it was a kind robot too. Its sad that you had to kill him oh and too bad that guy does not sing a funny song when you kill him like the computer from Portal does. (best song ever)

Hey Rainfire - i didn't kill that flying robot with the long arms! No, I talked to him and convinced him I owned the company and also got the access code from him. The maintenance droid I'm talking about is closer to the entrance - hes dormant in a cylinder type thing when you first get there - you have to activate him by hacking the computer, just like the robot in the super-dupa mart. But in the super-duper mart there was an employee id right next to the computer so it was easy to fool the robot into thinking you were supposed to be there. In the Nuka-cola factory I can't find an employee id anywhere....2009-01-09 01:13:00

Oh, never knew that, i will look for it (doubt it will do me any good though, i think i will just steal 37 bottles from her [so i can get 29 for that one guy, and 30 for the broad] then just give clean water to beggers outside of Rivet City and Megaton to get my Karma back up.

[...]but when you get down to it, you're essentially going straight to your objective only to be blocked off by random buildups of concrete - from there, you're stuck going around to find another way.

Pretty much the truth. They build their levels with "tiles", which are like lego bricks. They snap together and allow for some pretty interesting interiors (and exteriors), but everything ends up looking and feeling pretty much the same in the end.

Had a really satisfying session with the game today. There was this kind of bomb shelter in the ground that opened when I walked over it. So I dropped down, went inside and immediately found loads of ammo and weapons. Then cleared out the place fairly handily and had just lately got the fortune finder perk so found a good few caps. Lots of mines about so I disarmed and took those too.

The combat shotgun really is a fantastic weapon. There's ammo everywhere, you can do one shot kills from a far distance if sneaking (seriously did it from a point where I could barely see the person and killed him in one shot... worked on a few supermutants too) and there are 12 rounds per clip which means you rarely have to reload during combat unless you're against 3/4 enemies.

Also found a few wastelander hideouts, one of which was extremely well protected with traps, all of which I disarmed after I killed the guy from a big distance with a few missiles... shotgun wasn't working too well. There were a load of safes that gave me quite a large stash and one very hard lock that I'll come back to later.

If you go for a decent amount of time without dying, the gameplay is extremely satisfying. I honestly don't know how someone could not really enjoy the game unless they were dying all the time.

You don't wike Wittle Wampwight?

no I do not believe he does, just go and look at the online guides and BAM you know what you need to do and it just works out nice and easy. Oh and by the way, i made a Social group for you, It is called "The Bethesda Group" or something like that (can't remember >_>) but for any of you who liked the Elder Scroll Series (Oblivion was in this series) or the Fallout series (Fallout 3 was in here too... duh —.—

@Kmills: Yeah i know what you mean, but just put the ones up that you need and the ones up that you need to get the perks that you want.

They looks sweet until they take off their helmets, or you just REALLY look at it and realize how crappy the graphics are on the PS3.

didnt think they were any better on xbox or PC for that matter i guess. IDk its not like they had to tune them down from system to system so IDk why they would solo out the PS3 to have crappier graphics

Hey I read a thread on another forum (and wouldn't ya know it my lengthy post, even with a TL;DR at the end ended the discussion). It asked if Fallout 3 is fun... and honestly while I feel it can be at times, overall, I don't think it is.

Why do you guys feel it's fun?

I do think that it can be fun, if you go out and pwn everything you come across, especially if you invade a super-mutant camp or a raider camp (best moments ever). How about the rest of you guys.

Was reluctant to copy and paste my post from the other forum but what the hell. TL;DR at bottom .

Yes, Fallout 3 is fun to a certain extent. However, IMO, in no way is it more fun than Oblivion. I guess I'm just one of those people who loves Oblivion and even now if I play it, I still have a lot more fun than I have with Fallout 3.

Firstly the game is quite bleak, one of the bleakest games I've ever played. I wouldn't say I find it very uncomfortable to play but it definitely dampens the fun level a bit. I know it's meant to be dark and I guess they pulled off the atmosphere successfully but it is less fun than if the gameplay was set in a world that wasn't devastated by nuclear radiation. The developers wanted to create a world in which you never quite felt safe, that there was always something bad even when things were good and they succeeded.

I can't help but compare it to Oblivion but I guess that isn't the topic of this thread so I'll stop there. Let's just say the game is a little dark for my tastes, the darkness is pervasive and creeps into every aspect of the game and there is very little humour to lighten the mood. But then, I'm not a fan of post-apocalyptic settings... and I don't really understand why other people are. It's unwelcoming to say the least and as such, I have a love-hate relationship with the game. Some days I play it for hours and some days I can't stand it. The objective of the game is not really having a great time, but survival, pure and simple.

The various gameplay systems are good. I really like the lockpicking mechanism. Science mechanism could have been done a lot better. Shooting isn't that bad, sure you don't have on the dot accuracy as in shooters, but then again shooters are inaccurate representations of shooting accuracy. Since when can a scientist sharpshoot with a pistol, or any gun for that matter... nothing against Half-Life, just making a point. It's a little frustrating at first but you get used to it. Sniper-rifles still work like a charm though if you can handle the slight shake. VATS is grand though I do prefer using the real-time combat. VATS is just handy if things get too hectic and it's a way to get a few (maybe) accurate shots in without getting shot much yourself. If there are more than two average powered enemies you'll be using it.

Something I do love is the perks, most of them are great and useful, I just wish you could have all of them . The bobbleheads are cool too and having somewhere to display them is awesome.

Now to a major disappointment, the lack of readable material. Sorry to go back to Oblvion again but it had such a rich background for any who were patient enough to read some of the books found in the world. One of the series of books was a fascinating short-story and I just loved it. There were so many interesting books that told you so much about different aspects of live in Cyrodiil, usually only about 10 pages or so, but still great. Now Fallout is also filled with books, but they are all ruined, every single one of them. They don't look it really, they look like they should have readable material but they all just say "Small burned book" or "Large burned book". Even the skill books aren't readable, they just disappear when you click on them in your inventory as if you've just injested the knowledge. The only readable material is from the odd note you find or the information on computers, which can at times be interesting but not even nearly as much as the readable material in Oblivion.

One last thing, I haven't finished the game yet but know the ending thanks to some less than considerate, non-spoiler writing idiots. Anyway it sounds a bit disappointing with other options available but the game won't less you make use of them. I probably would have liked it if I was surprised by it though, I like that kind of ending.

TL;DR: It is fun at times, though not as fun as Oblivion. The game is too bleak which severely dampens the fun factor. Most game mechanics are done well, others aren't (hacking minigame). There are too few lighthearted moments, or instances of humour, dark or otherwise. The lack of readable material is a major disappointment.

Well yes, but in terms of fun factor, Oblivion is more fun. The time periods and worlds the games are set in are different but that doesn't mean that it isn't fair to compare the two.

remember to rob lucas simms house for the strenght bubble head

well i bought it before christmas and just started playing it yesterday, because bethesda promised to realease a patch before christmas but did JAnuary 13th (!!!!!) they realeased the patch for uk and us ppl but forgot about the europeans -.-

such a weak support! like many europeans that wrote in bethesda forums about that, i wont buy any new games from this company... its actually sad, cause their games rule

about F3...

i just did the first mission in megaton, had to look for food in a wall mart and just ran into raiders

actually the VATS and PIPboy system is great and also the whole story and atmosphere, but there are only 2 small towns? that really made me feel alone

anyway i also think oblivion was more fun to play

btw... how did you act in the vault? while smashing those cockroaches i accidently killed the mother -.- the boy attacked me in anger and so i also had to kill him. and later the vault boss also attacked me so i killed him...since then amatha ignored me. i wanted to get good karma but now im evil uhahaha

There are LOADS of places... ARE YOU KIDDING ME, but yeah it is different from Oblivion. i get that. But it still is fun in its own sense if you just look at it, if you are the exploring type... well this is a great game. and if you just like to see peoples' and creatures' heads blown off in slow motion (sometimes up to about 4 or 5 in one slow mo sequence, i especially like it when the game gives you a critical hit from far away with the hunting rifle, because it zooms around the bullet and stuff giving you one of the coolest slo-mo moments i have ever seen) How do you guys feel about it.

Try hacking the computer in the back room . Or if your science isn't high enough, I'm pretty sure there a mini-mission you can do in exchange for the info.

Yeah there is a mini mission... OR you can just go out and kill a raider or 2 and you will have your cash in no time. (radscorpians are good too, just loot them afterward and you will get something that you can sell for roughly 25 caps)

Any more help and all of us are right here ^.^

Cheers!

How can you compare 2 completely different games >_> 2D action MMORPG platformer, or 3D action open world RPG, 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAMES, oh and if you have a mac, good luck trying to play maple story (I have one, always wanted to play it though just to see what it was all about, but do not offer help for me here, we can talk over visitor messages if you have any info for me regarding it, and i do not want to get any extra software.) but you can compare 2 lets say... soccer games, you can compare those but these? not a chance, they are at nearly 2 opposite ends of the spectrum and they are impossible to compare. How do you guys think about it?

oh got it... yeah they are both pretty expansive games. One maple story, there is a LOAD of levels to get up to... Fallout 3 there are less levels but there is more to explore but still A LOT of fun. so i think you could fit both and max out your fun

Oblivion is still miles better than Fallout (IMO)..There's so much more to do, and it's nicer to play.. On Oblivion, you don't get 13 Super Mutants chasing you down the road as soon asyou start xD

The enemies level as you do.

Ok question:

So I'm full of Bad Karma...I haven't done a single nice thing throughout the entire game. I literally killed most of the people in Megaton before I dropped the Atom Bomb on them, so you can consider me a bit of a murderous psycho-path hahaha...

Anyway! I just got my hands on 2000 caps and I wanted to buy a slave off Eulogy but he's gone! I can't find him anywhere! Does anyone know where I can find him?

Help would be appreciated.

Also, Fallout 3's DLC (Operation: Anchorage) is coming out on the 27th of January!

Yeah I know, sucks doesn't it. Seems like Bethesda really don't like the PS3, similar thing happened with Oblivion... I hate the fact that there's a door in the world that's impossible to open due to a MISSING quest (The Orrery). Hopefully the expansions will come to PS3 eventually.

Oh i know what you mean I can not open that door so i am kinda mad at that, and it was supposedly going to be patched on the 360 and updated there, but on the PS3... *sigh* we need to create a petition, where should i Create one.

Petitions not really gonna do anything at this stage. They're not making expansions for the game anymore .

This is really lame of Bethesda. It's one thing to release a title exclusively for one console, which is okay in my book, but to release the game multiplatform but contain the DLC to one system? That's just lame. That's like saying "We'll release the game everywhere to make a lot of money, but we don't actually care for half of our fans." Plus, it's going to be hell for Bethesda when all the PS3 players don't get the DLC on the 27th. And I, for one, am going to join in creating that hell.2009-01-19 00:23:00

THAT PLACE FREAKED ME OUT!! It was fun but so creepy and weird. Also, the objectives were a little vague. I LOVE Fallout 3. I have the 360 version and I've played it to death. I'm being a little naughty and pirating the PC version so I can see the map editor and mods. I don't think it's bad to pirate a game I already own.

Ok I found out where the heck Eulogy was. He was hiding in the (well hidden) doctors office for a week apparently. There was some dialogue in there that I apparently needed to hear. So I got my slave woman running around with me now. It's pretty awesome lol2009-01-20 03:01:00

OMG Tranquility Lane Was one of the most funny things ever, Especially if you take the good route, you cause a "Chinese Invsion" and when you go outside a bunch of guys rush in and start shooting all of the residents, and then when you go up to the little girl she is talking in a creepy deep voice and switches back and forth, I was laughing my head off.

Oh and there is this one vault that i had to go in to to get a bobblehead and it was a cloning lab (dun dun dunnnn) CREPPIEST MOMENT EVER like there are a bunch of Daves (i think it was Dave) running around, and they say their name in like a maniacle maniac kind of way and you do not know where they are coming from but each one only takes one shot to the head, but still creepy as hell.

Cheers!

Good game, just not a good fallout game.

Being a massive (and I mean MASSIVE) fan of the original fallout games (and indeed all the story driven rpg's Black Isle was producing back in the golden era), I found it really hard to enjoy F3.

Now, don't get me wrong, its a wonderful game, and for every negative there is a positive, I'm just disappointed with the lack of that authentic fallout feeling.
The originals had such awesome epic stories, witty dialogue, intricate characters, and atmosphere...

F3 had... Well, to be frank, a rather uninteresting main storyline, not too imaginative characters (In comparison to the original freak shows), and terribly written dialogue.

But... When all is said and done, it does feel mighty fine to watch a super-muties head explode in slow motion. That's just this man's opinion.

How far along is tranquility lane? I have only just gotten the minefield quest lol. Exept, on my way there, I went wandering into the elementary school *Shudders*. That place creeps me out. All the bodies and stuff. Also, it's like a darn maze in there. I wanted OUT. I could only find cages and stuff.

It was dark down there. All the raiders were REEEAL quiet until they jumped out at ya. Though I had a lot of great moments when my laser pistol or whatever incinerated them :3. I have been playing all of my billion new games so not very far along yet.

So much fun though! Level 3. Only. Hehe.

oh hahaha oops, yeah i can be a little spoilerific (LOLZ), but good karma is awesome. Randome people come up to you and give you stuff for no reason whatsoever other than that you have over 750 good karma, just so you guys know, the karma ranges from -1000 to 1000, and each karma section (bad, neutral, and good) has a certain range. The nutral karma section has a range of 500 karma (between -250 and 250) and the good and bad karma sections have a range of 750 (for good 250 to 1000)(for bad -250 to -1000) so think of your karma as a slider. Oh and just to let you know, if you blow up Megaton you instantly get -1000 karma (LOLZ)

Vengeance is one of the most powerful weapons in the game. It is a gatling laser, and does up to 155 DMG. It's found in a pool of blood deep into the Deathclaw Sanctuary2009-01-23 17:27:00

well the best plasma rifle i think comes from the replicated man quest, the robot (thinks he is a real boy *sorry for the Pinoccio reference* ahem... man, real man) its a really good plasma rifle, but the best gun in the game is a fat man, but it is like a shotgun fat man, firing a bunch of nukes at the same time, pretty sweet if you ask me.

hmm dont think i did that quest... are you talking about the robot that gets his memory wiped? didn't think i ever got a plasma from that, but one thing about those weapons is you dont think they could ever get repaired to the max because you dont have another weapon to repair them w/...i think my plasma rifle is at like 44 damage or something fully repaired... i pretty one shot everyone in the head

@ miffy were do you find that one?

I can not remember but... *goes to Youtbe to look it up*... back it is called the "Experimental MIRV" which is a unique fat man that fires multi mini nukes (fires up to 8 mini nukes). It has the most damage in the entire game. It is in the National Guard Depot. There is also a bobble head in there.

i thought i saw a quote from the lead dev saying like no ETA at this time for the DLC for PS3. I think ranger may of been onto something they probably won't ever release it as DLC, they will prob make a "game of the year" addition or something and put it in there and make people buy a whole new game...from what their policy is for the PS3 it wouldnt suprise me

the ending was crappy. its like the most uncreative way they couldve thought to just permanatley end it, they couldve put a lot more thought into it imo. well at least in fallout 4 they already said they wont end it like that
