sonic style loop with tags, hows it done?

Hello everyone. I am having enormous trouble making a sonic the hedgehog style loopdeloop. I want it so when the player in the sackbot approaches, the loop then takes them around the loop, and if the player chooses to run back around the loop they can still do so. I know it's done with tags and so forth, but I find it very difficult to even begin to get this working. If possible could anyone provide advice or even a step by step guide of how to achieve the logic for this. Credit will go to the person who solves this dilema. Thank you.2012-01-21 11:33:00

I would consider waiting for the Muppets level pack, the Attract-O-Gel and Attract-O-Tweak will allow you to easily walk and run on any surface.2012-01-21 11:39:00

I know people have done an automated 2 way loopdeloop with tags, thats kinda the thing i'm after. But I have no idea how it's done. I'm desperate to know how. I know discovery is what makes LBP 2 fun, but trying to find out how this loopdeloop is done is stressing me out a lil lol.

i made one that worked without tags, it used a rocket rotator for each direction and a local space advanced mover to keep you moving around the loop, the benifit being that you dont need to add any logic to the loops, just create your loops etc and it works instantly.
obviously this is redundant with the muppets level pack, but i'm always more interested in the learning from challenge itself rather than using it for a level etc

hmm.... it's been a while since i worked on it, but i know i used a left/right local space speed sensor wired to splitter, positive output went to a rocket rotator that was facing right, negative output to a rocket rotator facing left.
i also had quite a bit of logic setup to make the bot speed up over time and conditions setup to keep that speed in certain situations.
the level i'm using it in uses loops in a unique way so i'll probably still finish it at somepoint, but loops are only a small part of it anyway. i'll wait to see how well the new tools will work b4 deciding if i'll replace it or not. but got another level to finish b4 i go back to that level

cool, thanks, i'll give it a go, sumtimes the logic in this game just goes over my head lol

I had a wall running mechanism made back on my sonic bot in the beta, however since it relies on Impact sensors you have to seperate each part of the running segment making the level a bit ugly.

It was a time consumer doing this method on loops so i had a grabbable Holograph glued to a solid material (I had to change said solid material when bringing it over from the beta because that method no longer worked) and had the sackbot auto-grab the holograph giving a somewhat realistic loop run.

Some old Beta videos (The current loop version and the wall running i gave away as prizes by collecting the chaos emeralds in published my level)

But as everyone said, you should just wait a few days for the Muppets pack for the gravity material (I'm even going to remake my level with this new stuff, maybe i could even expand it with a working slow roll that works on slopes, loops etc)

I plan to get the muppets pack, i think its gonna be a lot easier that way, i appreciate all of your help. After seeing what the attract o gel can do in a vid on youtube, i'm sold!!! I played your level Jkthree, most impressive it was to.

I foresee the Cool Pages being ruled by Sonic levels for the months following the Muppet Level Pack's release. If you want your level to stick out, make it good!

EDIT: I take that back. 'Being good' is no requirement for being on the Cool Pages.
