Need help properly timing some emitters
Archive: 3 posts
I have a mini-boss I'm trying to set up that works like this: The boss lies static in the upper middle of the room for the player to hit with a Paintinator, while it shoots a barrage of differently-angled lasers towards the lower part of the room that the player must dodge while shooting. Here's a picture of the emitters: http://i.imgur.com/RFTqd.jpg The way I want this to work is for each emitter to shoot about half a second or so before the next one, starting from the left and going right. If possible, I then want to have it shoot from right to left, then start the process over, with a brief pause in between each wave. I've tried setting up a sequencer on loop and setting up a switch that enables each emitter starting from the left and then immediately toggles it back off so it only fires one shot: http://i.imgur.com/B49LZ.jpg The problem here is that after the first wave, it doesn't keep a steady pace. Things just seem to fly out at random the way I have it set up. I'm a novice when it comes to a lot of sequencer and logic techniques in this game, so can anyone tell me how to get what I'm aiming for? | 2012-01-14 17:41:00 Author: Behonkiss Posts: 229 |
Instead of a sequencer you can add Selector, connect timer to its Cycle input and then connect outputs of the Selector to your emitters. This way they will shoot one after another with constant time interval. Don't forget to reset the timer after each shot. | 2012-01-14 17:54:00 Author: Unknown User |
Place all your emitter directly on the sequencer, with each emitter set to "Emit Once" and the sequencer set to "Loop: Yes" Once you set the placement of the emitted objects, you can move your emitters on the sequencer to adjust the timing and the objects will always come out at the same place. Hope that helps | 2012-01-14 18:25:00 Author: Pookachoo Posts: 838 |
