NASCAR: Race vs 17 AI cars (1min trailer)

Welcome to big time stock car auto racing. The race is the Daytona 500. You must complete 10 laps at the high speed Daytona oval battling past 17 AI cars to take the checkered flag

Cars You can race. I initially wanted to make all cars raceable, but sadly the emitters count toward the thermometer. For every car I made available to race I had to delete an AI car to make room. The AI cars alone take up 90% of the thermometer so please forgive the simple track design. So I had to settle on just 7 playable cars.

Looks sweet blue earth! i have queued and will play at the weekend.

Saw your post on the 'review' - thread. I'm no expert but you have put the level on the showcase with a great video & description which is a good start. play lots of other peoples levels, do some F4F and tweak if needed. Make friends There are some great help threads on this site too. Keep on it!

You didn't choose F4F but we can do an F4Fif u like? - on crystal methodology (part1) in my sig

woo hoo! been waiting for this one. adding to the queue

just got finished playing it. I had a really good time playing it, but some work still needed. 1st, why does it look so foggy? 2nd. in the car select screen, I chose Mark Martin, but when I went to drive, I was Greg Biffle. Still loving the car damage and was happy to see that my car didn't just remain floating around the track after being damaged, but instead, it showed the physical damage but didn't behave as if damaged. I crashed it so much that I was just the main body racing around the track. Don't get me wrong, I love it. I really want this to succeed. As with the indy level, awesome job on the car detail. Top notch.

I think the fog is due to the camera view being so far away. I should have added a camera selector that could zoom up and get rid of the fog, but would be harder to see the turns coming. On my screen the fog doesnt look that bad, but it probably does on others. I have extreme TV settings, very low brightness etc, so I need to pay more attention to details like that. Thanks for the heads up.

I think the bug with getting the wrong car has to do with the logic not being destroyed after car selection, so the wrong button presses may trigger something screwy. I had actually tried to fix a few more bugs like some pieces not being attached to certain cars, but I ran into a serious error. Every time I tried to load the level from my moon the game and PS3 crashed. I had to revert to an earlier save of the level to find one that worked, one with some minor bugs still in place like car select logic that is still active even after the race starts.

I think the problems with my levels so far are that they simply arent very fun to play, they're just generic racers. My next level will change that.

Hi there, just played your level. Had lots of fun smashing around the track and it drove really well. Cars looked great too! As you said above, the track is a little small/simple so it got a little samey after the first 10 laps or so - especially once all the other cars had destroyed themselves! One the fog, have you tried setting the fog colour to black? Look forward to playing any updates!2012-01-15 17:16:00
