Turn Jump-Pad sound off?

Archive: 12 posts

Not sure if this has been asked before, most likely has some time or another. anyways.
Is there any way i can get rid of the sound a jump-pad makes when you use it? i been wanting to replace it with custom sounds but no matter what you'll still be able to hear the default sound sense it is so noisy. only thing that seems to work is turn off all sound effects in the level options, but that's clearly not what i want... I really wish there was a option to turn off only default sounds in the level options at times like this... :'/ *mew

I believe if you put a sound chip on it set to on impact with 0 volume it might work... unless I'm thinking of something else... I'll test it next time i boot2012-01-11 00:38:00

Yeah, it's been asked a lot, everyone thinks it's sad but we must deal with it. It's all or nothing. You could disable the sounds only when very close to a bounce pad using sound tweakers, but then it would lag with multiplayer so you also need a player test.

In computerized coding ^^
If (NOT.2.players.range.5000 AND 1.player.range.10) then {set.soundfx.off} else {set.soundfx.on}

EDIT : to prevent problems, you could make one chip with the sound tweakers and make the bounce-pads have wireless transmitted data from sensors

if i disable all the sounds even for a moment while jumping on the pad then no one will be able to hear the custom sound i was wanting to replace the default with. but if there is no way i can have the custom sound play when the pad is jumped on and disable the default sound, then i guess there's nothing i can do about it~ *mew

that's only for Emitted and destroyed object sounds.

well... have you considered... maybe... not using a set bounce pad. Could always go back to the days where people built their own, they're usually not as efficeint as the updated lbp2 counterpart but they're just as fun in play mode and would allow you your custom sounds... that is unless, you have a very specific need that requires the new pads.2012-01-11 01:09:00

yeah i have thought about it. I still use custom jump pads for lots of things. I just made this topic to make sure i was not missing out on any nice tricks i could use. the LBP2 pads are nice because of how easy they are to edit plus have a cool animation and work little better in some ways. but custom pads always have their own uses. *mew2012-01-11 01:16:00

I fought this in Wooly Bully and ended up just playing my sound in addition to the default.

Speaking of bounce pads, there isn't a glitch to make one invisible is there? Bounce pads are just so nice/reliable and easy to adjust, I'd hate to have to do it old school...

invisible? Sure, I know a trick that makes them 90% invisible. I use it a lot lately.

just make your own bounce pads using pistons.

could do this, go LBP1 style and set the piston to Flipper.

What is it?!?

Oh sorry, i had gone to bed right after I typed that. Anyways. You can make it with a fairly simple set up. Create a block of holo or SP. Put a chip on that. On that chip make… a timer set to 0.1 0.1 on it’s time settings. Connect that timer to a emitter set to fade in it’s visual settings and connect the same timer to a destroyer set to dissolve. Ok now whatever you emit will be like SP materiel set to 15%. Enjoy. If I remember right, if you push rewind in create mode it’ll put the object back to normal. But this trick does work in play mode to. IMO it’s bust used for only objects that’ll be emitted in your levels. *mew

I already explained why I like to use the LBP2 pads little more then half the time.
