LittleBigPlanet 3D?

Not sure if this is in the right section, but... Do you think there's going to be any possibility of a three-dimensional LBP? I always imagined something along the lines of Crash Bandicoot. I think the sheer complexity of it might turn people off. I would also think that as for Microchips and Controllinators, (and this goes for Sackbots especially) there would be a raw code for default objects. What I mean by that is, instead of opening up a Popit menu to change the movement speed of a Sackbot, you would be able to open up the microchip and modify the (theoretical object name) X Mover's max speed, change it's control inputs or remove it all together. This would be highly useful (and, in some cases, essential) in duplicating certain games (Resident Evil for example). Keeping with the complexity, an animation maker would also be essential for this. These two features alone would probably turn most people off. Perhaps a return to simple, LBP 1 style gameplay with the addition of the third dimension would help? What do you think? | 2012-01-06 23:50:00 Author: DrCell Posts: 102 |
I, personally, would not like a 3D LBP. I dislike 3D in general. It's all way to cheap to be any good at the moment. I highly doubt that I will ever spend money on 3D technology until the next generation comes out. In LBP, I'll stick to the layer tools to create a '3D' effect. | 2012-01-06 23:56:00 Author: Speedynutty68 Posts: 1614 |
Since Media Molecule is taking a break from the Little Big Planet series, I don't think there'll be any new LBP game coming out any time soon, if there's even any plans to continue it. I mean, obviously, making it a full on three dimensional game would work with it being the third in the series xD but na, if they were to continue it, I think they'll still stay with it's traditional looks, the 3 layer, 2.5d sidescroller kind of environment. If they were to go that complex, well, it would probably turn a lot of people off. (EDIT: Ooooh wait, did you mean 3d as in "in your face", or like a 3rd person/1st person game? For a while I've thought of 3d as the second option, ind of ignoring the other one, which I refer to as...threee deeeee. Anyway, if you meant still the 3 layer, 2.5d sidescroller but with 3d graphics....well, I'm not sure how it'd really benefit at all.) | 2012-01-06 23:57:00 Author: Dragonvarsity Posts: 5208 |
'Since Media Molecule is taking a break from the Little Big Planet series, I don't think there'll be any new LBP game coming out any time soon' edit: quote messed up, please excuse the manual quotation marks Tarsier's making lbp vita and I expect that will be good. If Mm does step away forever I'd like them to take over but hopefully one day Mm will pick up where they left off. As for 3D, I don't like the idea, part of lbp's charm is the simple 2.5D atmosphere and I'd personally like to see it remain that way. | 2012-01-07 03:43:00 Author: ForgottenEnigma Posts: 1414 |
