Level Design Question

you know the section in razhoteps tomb where you're moving on a large rectangular block with the checkpoint in the middle and it goes from moving horizontally to moving up vertically up against some bits of gas? It's right after the part where the checkpoint gets knocked off by the glass bit.. how did you get that rectangular section moving horizontally to vertically? I assume you use two pistons of some sort, but I can't figure out how you got them to work like that. Thanks in advance, and I hope my explanation makes sense. | 2008-12-28 12:51:00 Author: Lemm Posts: 5 |
Aer0blue is off to Europe for a few days, I'm sure he will answer your question when he see's this post. I have also sent him a link to it, you could just PM him the question and he will get it as well. Cheers QuozL | 2008-12-28 13:00:00 Author: QuozL Posts: 921 |

Alright, here's how I did it. Firstly, you should read this thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=4562), the section where it talks about Thin Layers. The Moving Platform has a moving mechanism behind that Thin Wall. I kind of made the Platform one layer thick, but copied and glued it onto itself so it would be "two layers". However, by doing it this way, thin layers can still pass through. When moving horizontally, I used a set of rotating motors that dragged the Moving Platform to the right. Very simple. Just round Rubber Material that the Moving Platform rode on. Then, once it reached the end, it activated a Key Switch near the wall. This activated another small piston-powered platform behind the walls to push the Moving Platform up, raising it. That's pretty much it. ...Did I make much sense? lol I would offer to show you a "behind the scenes" look by deleting that Thin Layer, but I leave in about five hours. | 2008-12-28 15:32:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |
