Sink my ship! (how?)
Archive: 7 posts
Hi everyone! My Titanic Bomb Survival has been a small success (most people are happy about it and it's played 200 times by now). But a highly requested feature is that the ship has to sink. The problem is that I tried different things (like a sequencer, movers, ...), but I never get it right. So I don't know if one of you guys has the experience to 'sink ships' in LittleBigPlanet. I would like to see my ship sink like the real Titanic (stern first). Maybe you should play my level first to see what ship I've made? (It's in my signature). But please, someone help me to solve this and add this cool feature to my level. Thanks in advance! | 2012-01-06 09:40:00 Author: Cpt Yanni Posts: 36 |
To apply a force isolated to the stern of the ship in order to drag it down you could do something like this: http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l37/Corporeal/6218daf1.png Not sure if it'll work in practice, though. | 2012-01-06 10:59:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
I tried your idea, in the beginning (when I put the movers on '5 seconds&apos it works fine but it can't pull the entire ship down. The ship is made of sponge and it looks like the 'movers' (even if I add 6 of them) are too weak to make it 'dive' into the water. When I put the timer of the movers to 300 seconds, then it's completely useless (the movers pull the ship a couple of inches in to the water. ) I don't know if you have other ideas? But I really would appreciate it! Thanks already for the idea! | 2012-01-07 10:17:00 Author: Cpt Yanni Posts: 36 |
Maybe you could adjust the buoyancy of the sponge with a gravity tweaker at the same time? Also, I think you could get rid of the gyroscope if local space isn't enabled on the mover. | 2012-01-07 20:50:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
You could try running a negative signal through the up/down of an advanced mover (putting the microchip on the front of the ship) then use a timer to bring down the back with another mover. | 2012-01-08 03:41:00 Author: Bremnen Posts: 1800 |
I did something similar to this when i first got LBP. All i did was attach a piston set to loose not stiff to the back of the ship and have it trigger when the ship was destroyed and it pulled the ship down back first. Didn't work that well but did the job. | 2012-01-08 08:56:00 Author: Lordwarblade Posts: 761 |
