S.K. SAGA_Act 1-1: Rising Nation

Alright, I'm back and I've finally released SKY KINGDOM Act 1-1 to the public,
Try out my new level, this is the start of a Saga I've been writing on my own time and I wanted to bring it to life on LittleBigPlanet, so you guys can experience what has been in my mind these past few months... Act 1-1 took about 2 weeks to fully finish, its a rather medium length level, it includes the RPG genreof hack'n'slash and focuses heavily on the story of the saga, the saga will be 13 levels long, so far Act 1-1, Act 1-2, Act 2-1, Act 3-1 are complete, (but I'm gonna go in chronological order if I can), THIS STAGE IS PLAYABLE SOLO but HEY, go ahead and bring 3 other sackfriends, there's 3 other bots they can climb into!!!

I'll upload pix of my level soon as it as a very important level to me, also, let me explain the commands
CROSS - jump (Dorian's double jump)
CIRCLE - normal attack (don't spam the button, it won't help)
SQUARE - pop-it (leave your insignia and take a photo of yourself in my stage)
TRIANLE - no use
R1 - grab
R2 - power attack
L1 - super attack
L2 - (Dorian's special) no use for the others

pretty much, just pay attention to the story, as that is my main focus, the detail of the stage is third for me BUT ITS CURRENTLY GOING UNDER REPRODUCTION, what is most important is Story first, Sackbot programming second, and Stage Decor third, BUT WOW, I'VE AMAZED MYSELF!!!

have fun and leave me your feedback, I prefer reviews on the actual LBP stage, the stage is at 100% final and is currently going into (Golden Version)

In this level you play as 4 residents of the Kingdom of Skye, these 4 dwellers make up the New Legion Knights of Skye along with 5 others who are mentioned in later levels...
you play as:
Lord James Grimmy, the Wingly Guardian, he's in his early 20s
Adam Knight, the Wingly Knight, he's in his 50s
Luna Rhapsodos, the Wingly Monk, she's in her late teens
Dorian, the Evalonian Mage, he's around 2 centuries old
these 4 characters all have 3 diverse attacks, an attack, a power attack, and a super attack
you'll learn more about them as you play through Act 1

THE SNOW AREA IS STILL BEING FIXED, SHOULD BE DONE BY THE END OF DECEMBER

Gold Version is still incomplete (need the Vaterdam Mountains) but its in working condition!!!
Looks amazing, come try it out and experience the Legend of Sky Kingdom!!!

I really liked this level. The scenery was incredible, and the lighting and colours worked really well. The music was nice too and the camerawork was noticeable but well implemented.

I didn't really take too much of the story in but I the overall narrative was quite good. It didn't feel particularly long though, but as this a serial level, I hope for more to come.

EDIT:
The level has a real impact in the opening because of the striking scenery crossed with very cinematic camera. I followed the guard which was a bit irritating so maybe he could say something about not following him. The day/night transitions are awesome as well and add a real rpg feel to the level. The fighting system is really awesome as well with sound effects which aren't annoying and really add subsidence to the actions being performed. None of the enemies were hurting me or taking health off which took all the challenge out the level and really reduced the enjoyment a hellalot. I got lost after going in a circle after the floating anti-gravity platforming section. I ended up back there after doing the going behind walls section then fell into the smoke only to not be killed, where I suicided and was taken back to the start unable to get into the Jimmy sackbot but I then jumped into the knight and found the right way. I'm not sure if this is deliberate in order to change characters or something but would look into it, also the enemies didn't hurt the knight either. The snow sections were pretty bland compared to the rest of the level, maybe try putting some slight snowfall in and some low blue lights.

On the whole this is a beautiful level with sever technical issues. The dialogue and story are really engaging with some really funny moments but the lack of actual cutscenes let the cinematic nature of the level down. Once you have sorted the technical issues fixed please let me know as this seems like a series which has a lot of potential.

ahhh, yes, still having problems with the spawning I see -.- I'll fix that
oh, the 4 different characters are just in case you have 4 other sackfolk in your Pod, the level is designed to support 4 other players, not like your ordinary 1P-LEVEL
the snow region, yes, I still need to work on that area as well XD
that area is not finished yet, I haven't had the time to really go through that area and make it seem... legendary.
if you wanna see what the level will look like with snow, try Act 3-1, if you manage to reach the snow area that is... that'll be a portrait of what's to come but better!
ahhh yes, I've had a few complaints about the "enemies don't do crap to you", I'm working on new logic that'll give you the edge for your seat, but it might end up requiring having to actually Restart Level... It'll be done eventually as this is the only level that'll be branded Gold Version, and if it continues to get more plays and hearts and a hopeful MM PICK, then it'll be branded Platinum Version ;D

yes, the sackbot animations were originally a test from my Legend of Zelda game, since it was a success I incorporated new mechanics for it here in this level, but there are still a few things I would like to fix before I make this "Platinum"
The story expands over 13 levels, but due to me having a girlfriend and all that other shilly shally I had to put the story arc on hold for an indefinite amount of time :T
What you see of the SKY KINGDOM on my planets will probably be the last of it :T

glad you like the level though, I just saw yours and totally gonna play it in a bit

I gave your level a couple of tries yesterday and ran into a couple of problems. The level concept is really cool. The ability to sorta explore and the large amount of dialogue is really neat. I was confused by the multiple speakers throughout. The word bubbles were all coming from the same location on screen and there were as a many as four or five different actors which led to some confusion because there were at most times only two sack people on screen. Additionally, I got stuck in the area pictured below.

Because I couldn't continue I decided to try and explore some more but ended up somehow killing my sackbot while surviving myself. Once popped I was transported back to the beginning. While walking across the level I was thrown into another sackbot.

I think that this level has a lot of potential but there appear to be some bugs that need to be worked out. As for the F4F, if you could check out one (or both) of my levels (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=72941-Metal-Gear-Sackboy-Unraveling-Stitches) I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Lol i looked and looked and all most over looked this thread :o...That was fantastic the 3d details the music the visuals blended so well i loved the enemies it had some what of a final fantasy fill to it.Cant waight till part 2!2012-09-10 03:13:00

the multiple dialogue on screen is because the level was initially designed for 4 player co-op, so if all 4 players were there you'd be able to understand the story completely, but if you play alone, you'd still get the benefit of the story even without the other 3 players, yeah, I'll try to fix any other bugs if I can, I'm busy working on another level, sure, I'll play your level

yeah, well, some parts are already spread out, Act 1-2 has been released (needs some work), Act 2-1 has been released, and Act 3-1 has been released as well, not too sure if I'm going to continue the story, I think I want to go back to making normal platformer levels :o
