My love of LBP & My Future Contribution

Archive: 27 posts

I figured i would write this post to the LBP creator community, if you take this time to read this then thank you and i will remember your replies in the future.

Overview:
First of all, i am no one special (currently) Of course i am aiming for the same thing as everyone else here, Which is fame and the love of my fellow sacklings
i will give you a brief a brief overview of my LBP past present and hopefully future, as well as a small part of my personal life.
I want go in depth too far as i do not feel i am important enough yet to be worth too much of your time.

Personal:
I am 20 Years old on this date, I have a daughter who is 2 1/2, ironicaly she was born on my birthday yes i started much younger than i should have but i plan to take care of here till my dying breath, my name is Camron(No E, i promise... everyone thinks their is an E but no i assure you their isnt) and i have been playing video games since i was 4.

LBP:
My adventure started about a month after LBP1 released, as many of you i jumped in to find an awesome story that i quickly fell in love with, after which i instantly starting creating.

I made my first level which was called (Tyranny's first level), it was god aweful, but it did have logic in it and doors that didnt open till you had completed task, looking back i think it was a decent start, my next level was called(MGS Boot Camp) i was actually pretty fun for LBP1, simple platformer, jump over this, avoid that, much much better than my other stuff.

after this however i spent the next 6 months refining my skill, i release two levels(Death Arena I) and (Death Arena II) the first was just, Teetherless jetpack and swords with special powers)
The second however introduced a few things i hadnt touched before, i have a platform you started on dissapear after a few seconds, and after the intro, then you fell into a selectiong room where my name flashed 3 times in fron of you, then you selected your choice of 3 levels. in lbp1 making selections and junk an option wasnt very easy.

After that i did the same thing i did before, refined and refined, eventually i put out a level known as Dream state, which was LBP1 started but finished on LBP2(currently still up) i like to think it is my first real level, however i think the quality is an aweful representation of my current work and creativity level.

Afterwords my very first 100% lbp2 level came ouut, it is known as (Space Lab: The beginning)it is a simple platformer but has some very cool visual appeal and mechanics that look fairly nice, and once again i have been on a 6 month refining streak since then, although i might add i have spent more time now refining than both of the previous times combined and multiplied by 10.

In essence i have spent a great deal of time coming close to mastering all aspects of logic and gaining a tight grip on the scenery in my mind, i plan to melt minds with my future work and i hope all of you find that i have given a great deal of love to the community and havent asked for any in return.

Future:
My future will consist of many wonderous level that now i have the ability to create what is in my head.
1A,The most current that will be released is a level known as "Terraformer" i wont go into it too much but some of you more clever sacks might get a hint as to what it will be about.
1B,I also plan to release "Terraformer: The Platformer" that same moment.
2, I have in plans a level design called "Insides" in the plans as well, im sorry but i cant explain either of these to you but know that i hope to make my mark with them.
3, Their is a 3rd but it is subject to massive change.

So that concludes my rise to the current Tyranny68 many of you know and some love. I thank you for taking the time to read this extensive autobiography of which i didn't intend to be so long.
I also hope to see you all in the future with wishes that i will see your happy sack faces on the review section of my future projects.

Lots of love from your future famous(hopefully) friend T68 <3

*Claps*.
It's always lovely to know a little more about people here. Gives a friendlier feel to things.
But as you were talking about reaching fame, a suggestion from me would be to keep fame off your mind. Just have fun, make friends, and help out. If you're destined to be famous here then it'll happen. And seeing your work on LBP, I think you could be. But always remember, good character and friends that'll support you are the most important thing.
As for having an early start, I think that's beautiful. You're 20 and have a kid, you're willing to always take responsibility. I admire that. Keep it up.

Dont aim for fame.
Obsessively seeking it won't do ya any good.
Sackgirl touched all the point in a clever way and she's 100% right.
Just try to have fun!

Thanks guys, no worries my desire for fame is only outshines by my lust for social interaction and friendship, thus i have built a very nice community of friends around me that grows everyday, as both of you may have noticed i have been pushing hard on the forums a lot trying to make friends, i have met a lot of great people and i am happy about that, my friends list on PSN gets bigger by 2 a day(which can potentially be bad too )

What i'm after isnt exactly fame, i am after giving the community levels that when they play them they go "ooh" and "Ahh" that is what makes me happy.
When i read a comment on a level that says i liked this or that i get exstatic and when someone asks me to help them after playing my levels i cant help but smile in real life and proceed to give then a hand.

I will refrain from getting too "Mushy" here as i hae the potential too at the moment, i guess you can say i am in a really good mood and currently have the best group of friends i have ever had throughout my video game days.

And thank you two for reading this i really appreciate it.

You seem to have really good character.
I admire how you try to help out so much and how many friends you try to make. And I like how you wanna give the community that makes them sit in awe as they play it. Talk about dedication, this is the definition of it.

Gotta admire that. Seems hard to come by people who are willing to help out their fans.
Despite how much you wrote, I don't really have any more thoughts to share. However, I have queued up some of your levels on LBP.me. Hopefully I'll get to them tonight after work.

Space lab is pretty cool but the others are blah, and ancient compared to my current work, I thank you however for the support it really does mean a lot to me.

@Omega Thank you pal, i have been in the same place ever since the first day i joined and i'm glad you remember that, i have strived to keep a good rep amongst the many of Central and i hope it stays that way for as long as i am involved in LBP.

@Alex thank you for taking the time to read it, comments are appreciated and i couldnt be happier to see them.

@all the support mean a lot i hope you all understand that, maybe i shouldnt have posted this but im glad i did because you all seem to support me and for that i can say i am exstatic and supremely happy, my best wishes to all of you <3

Yay for life stories

I hope your rise is also LBP's community's rise.
You have the same goals as i and most of my other good LBP pals: we are not (or try not to be) so abrupt about it.

What a wonderful life story. I really enjoyed reading this. I wish you the best of luck to you, your daughter, your family, and everything else you cherish. I hope you continue to make levels and hopefully you will finally become successful (MM picked successful) with your LBP levels. And one more thing before I go, everyone IS special, no matter how "unspecial" you think you are. NEVER GIVE UP.2012-01-04 02:27:00

@nysudyrgh Thank you XD, though you are totally right, i did message over 100 people with a personal message asking them to accept me all that good junk, the moment i did that i also vowed to mysef that i wouldnt let them simpy become numbers on my profile page, i also sent every single person a much much more personal message near midnight on the 31st of december, of course it took 3 hours but i managed to leave my 140 friends at the time a nice personal message, and as each one repied i repied back, in an attempt to engage them in a personal discussion as to get to know them a bit better, dont get me wrong it was time consuming tiring and XP earning, but the most i get out of it is simply this, whenever i post on the forums and i see a reply i will more than likely have had a conversation with that person already, which makes me familiar with them which in essence makes my interaction with them much more pleasent, i can say "Oh yay Biorogue posted here so i have to" having that personal connection makes all the difference and i want everyone here to know that i am willing to take thetime to reply to every VM or personal message you throw my way.

Biorogue i use you as an example because of your kind word on planetarium(they made me happy)

AS FOR YOU, SPEEDNUTTY!! i will be adding you soon and joining you every time you play battlefield 3, not to help you out however, but to be on the enemy team every time and slaughtering you relentlessly, then we shall see who the true victor is. also thanks for the thanks

It must be tough being a parent at such a young ag , though you seem to have the right mindset for it. It will be good when your daughter reaches a suitable age to be able to understand child friendly games such as LBP, and you can let her play your levels and say "Daddy made this". Same for all parents on this site. It was nice to read your LBP story, I think I should give you a brief overview of mine:

My name is Alistair, I'm 25.
When I got my ps3, LBP came with it.
Whilst I never really delved much into create mode, I still carried on playing it until the release of LBP2.
I went into LBP2 with the same mindset - with no intention on creating.
Discovered the music sequencer, started to create a few basic songs.
Decided to make my first level revolving around my songs. I found that the LBP2 logic was much easier to understand, even for simpletons like me. I managed to surprise myself with some of my creations. The first time I improvised with the logic was with a mini "Lights Out" game as part of my level, which I created with very little help.
I had expected it to get quite a few plays (despite how naff the level is in comparison to others), how wrong I was. I was naive to think that you could just publish a level and it'd automatically get plays.
After that level, my other levels have all been controlinator based. I find that the controlinator appeals to me more than making platform levels.
I currently have 2 levels in the pipeline. I haven't really started on the main one, have been struggling with the logic a little bit. Being frustrated, I decided to begin on a new mini project to get the creative juices flowing. I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this idea, but I've thought that at some point whilst creating my past 3 levels, and they've turned out alright. A little credit should go to Valeview for his message on my profile, pushing me to create another level. I have to please my fan.
My expectations for my levels are lower than they were at the beginning. As long as they're generally liked, I can be proud.

Ali-Star Thak you for your support, yes it isnt the easiest thing in the world but i cant complain, i hope to make mine and her life a great one.

I hope many other decide to share a bit about themselves here, maybe i can be known for being the guy who got everyone to be all mushy gushy on central XD and spill a but about themselves to the community.

Sry for the double post bt, my browser isnt letting the edit screen pop up.

Well, since you want people to share and I haven't done so anywhere else:

Name- Timelord_X Age- 23
Janitor by well, evening, creator by night, and denizen of various parts of the internet for the rest of the night and early morning. I was a vet tech student for 2 years before I ran out of money and had to drop out, so I know a bit about animals and medicine.

As for LBP, I started on LBP1 on a different account. During a couple brief stints on the cool pages, I added a bunch of people I didn't know. I never got to know most of them, but it wasn't a big deal till LBP2. Then it seemed any time I was online, people were trying to join or invite me. I didn't want to delete everyone, seemed mean to me. Plus at this time all the most popular levels were copied, junk, or both. I decided to start a new account, which to be honest I was going to use for trolling.

So I became Timelord_X. I decided that to become a troll, I should gain a bit of fame that I could turn to infamy. I worked hard on my "first" level, and during that time I discovered my passion for logic. Since that level got on the cool pages (no advertising, friends boosting it or anything) I pretty much abandoned the whole trolling idea and decided to be a legit creator, more confident than I'd ever been in my merit as a creator.

I haven't put much effort into my more recent levels (they've pretty much just been tech demos), but I've finally got some good, coherent ideas. The project I'm working on now is by far the most ambitious thing I've attempted. Even if it doesn't get many plays, I've learned a lot and have enjoyed myself so far. I haven't done much testing for it yet, though.

Heh, that was fun. Hope someone enjoys reading it.

Sharing is caring. Unless it's a disease. Then it's just mean. I have a disease. Would you still like me to share?
