How do I fix freezing in LBP2?

Archive: 5 posts

Hi I got LBP2 for Christmas and it was working OK until I got to the tutorials for create mode. When I go into one and press the red button, my TV starts to mess up over the area where the video plays and the game freezes. I've noticed that I can just avoid the button all together and still get the prizes at the end, but I really want to know how to use the tools they give you.
I've already deleted my saved data and started over, tried playing offline, not imported my LBP1 data, etc. Is there any way to fix this, or a way to get the normal tutorials online somewhere? Please help!

You can look up some pretty basic tutorials on YouTube. Most notably by Comphermc (http://www.youtube.com/user/LBPlanetorials) and SilverScorp91 (http://www.youtube.com/user/SilverScorp91#grid/user/62A6DC0AA4F45C4A). (YouTube links)

To solve your problem, have you tried deleting and re-installing the Game Data instead of the Save Data? That may help. That helps with most game based issues. Anything affecting your character or levels deals with the Save Data.

No problem! Happy to help. And there's many other tutorials out there if that's not what you're looking for. I just gave you ones that actually cover what you may want to use in the future.

And I hope you continue coming back to LBPC! The community here is awesome! (Mostly because of me, of course. Because everybody knows how awesome I am. Especially Nys-sdfoiu. >.>)

...When I go into one and press the red button, my TV starts to mess up over the area where the video plays and the game freezes.

IIRC, the tutorial videos are always read from the game disc, and if that's the only thing that seems to be failing, it could be an imperfection on the game disc which is only affecting a subset of the sectors which contain the video.

Any imperfection severe enough to cause read errors should be noticable to the naked eye, so have a look at the disc, and see if there's any major scratches, or gunk, on the disc.
