Editing Avatars

Archive: 6 posts

For some reason when I try to upload an avatar I made and re-sized from paint, it always says it's too large. I recently edited an avatar that worked when it was straight from the download, but when I edited it and resized it even smaller than before, it said it was too large. For example:
-I choose an avatar that works.
-I go to paint and edit it a bit.
-I resize the edited file to a fitting size, sometimes even smaller than what worked.
-It says it's too large.
Is there something I'm missing? Please help.
EDIT: I also used to change my avatar frequently (if you haven't noticed). I used to always do this and it always worked until now.

Resolution size or file size?
I think it's the file size. It says "Remote file is too large".
But what's the resolution size? Sorry, I don't know much about this.

change the format from .bmp to .jpg? I don't use paint anymore, but doesn't it automatically save it as a .bmp file and .bmp is usually a pretty big file size2011-12-31 20:10:00

Don't go .jpg in paint it loses alot of the quality try .png

Resolution size is the images size in pixels.

If you will upload the file and post it here I will take a look at it and regardless of what I find (or don't find) I will return a working file to you.2012-01-02 06:06:00
