What the...? What's the point of them? I'm pretty sure we don't need to be instructed on how to open a box. They even describe how the box feels sometimes. Don't mind us, we're only drooling all over our keyboards while you open your new highly expensive product with a wide, troll-like grin on your face. Who wants to watch someone open a box? I'm not talking about reviews, cautions, and other things along that line, those are actually kind of helpful, but just when it's some dude opening a box...and that's it. Duh? Do any of you think there's a point to it? I'm not trying to insult the people who do it at all, I'm just saying.

It is quite a niche audience, but some people do enjoy watching them. I supose it differs though, I can agree that many videos do show them off in a slightly 'baostful' manner, but I never look into it more than 'enthusiasm' Now, if we are talking about collectors editions, then that is an entirely different matter. People watch them to see the many bonus goodies that ship with them, and it can be interesting to see. Or sometimes, it may help people decide to spend a little extra money to get the bonuses.

Before buying any figures I search for unboxing videos of them to get an idea of whether I like it or not and what the packaging is like, so I find them useful.

I personally watch them to see the content quality of a collectors edition/ GOTY edition or whatever expensive product tickles my fancy. Some also have quite a bit of humor, which is a nice touch too. I can see how some people find them pointless, but I see them as a two-sided face. Some do it for Braggz, others just want to let people know if something they bought is really worth the $90+ price tag. Most are the second option. (That Ive Watched), so Im not sure if your just watching a massive jerk, or just questioning why they exist.
