'Essential' DLC?
Archive: 11 posts
Going to get the Move pack, already have Monsters, PoTC, MGS, and History. I'm looking for packs that have incredibly useful decor/items that I could use to make my own levels. I don't care for the levels in the packs, I get enough great levels for free from the community. Also have no need for costumes. Never use sackbots and I've had the same Roman soldier outfit since LBP1 . If someone has suggestions, could they give reasons for why it's useful. | 2011-12-23 04:00:00 Author: SSTAGG1 Posts: 1136 |
for deco items, Marvel and/or the incredibles kit comes with some great deco items | 2011-12-23 04:36:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
You already have the essential DLC. The only other level packs there are that you don't already have: History Kit Incredibles Marvel Toy Story None of these I've found particularly useful, although I haven't bought the Toy Story kit. The Valentine's Day pack had some good decorations in it, but I'm not sure that's still available. I've found the Verabee Sticker Kit infinitely more useful than the Jon Burgerman one. http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/Downloadable_content_(LBP1) http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/Downloadable_content_(LBP2) As you can see most of the DLC is costumes, which you've expressed no interest in. | 2011-12-23 11:09:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
The history kit has some great architectural stickers in it, as well as a pretty cool background. | 2011-12-24 02:38:00 Author: Brannayen Posts: 438 |
Forgot to edit that in, that 'other' DLC was the history kit. Got it for the sound effects. | 2011-12-24 02:54:00 Author: SSTAGG1 Posts: 1136 |
Don't forget the free Winter Creator's Kit - it's only in the store for a few more days! I try to get all the DLC that includes materials, never know what I'll need. | 2011-12-24 21:43:00 Author: Pookachoo Posts: 838 |
I also, would say you have the essentials already. The only other pack that comes to mind is the Toy Story kit, but I can give much advise there... as I didnt buy it. In terms of other bits and piece for editing: As already mentioned before, I would suggest one or both: Verabee and Jon Burgerman sticker kits. They are both useful but are very different styles, so I would look into them and see if either of them are similar to the style of levels you build The ico pack does come with some nice sound effects, but once again, I would double check to see if you would find them useful before buying. | 2011-12-24 23:08:00 Author: samalot Posts: 591 |
The Verabee stickers are pretty good, especially the ivy in it (quite a few nature stickers), but I don't really find the Jon Burgerman stickers to be all that useful. Most of the Jon Burgerman stickers are cartoony, which is fine if that suits one's style. That's a case of not checking before buying for me. But MGS, Pirates, Move, History Kit, and Monsters Kit are what I'd consider 'essential' or 'core' DLC. Useful and a lot of additions, but you already have them. :d The Incredibles & Marvel kits have some nice decorations; the Marvel kit has some windows and other exterior building stuff, while the Incredibles has some nice decorations for vehicles. Some nice objects too. However more than half of the marvel kit is...well, Marvel stuff, like Spiderman, etc. Incredibles is far more useful, IMO. Both Marvel and the Incredibles does have music. I'd highly suggest the Winter Kit that Pookachoo suggested though. It's free! | 2011-12-26 11:18:00 Author: VnGamer234 Posts: 111 |
Thanks. I just got the Christmas pack. Busy, but found the time . Also the Move pack, happy that they put the panel in the tut (no move here) I'm looking for some 'medieval' era decor, but it seems like I've got most everything beside the 3 level packs. Just to be sure, the sticker packs are 'just' stickers? I don't really use them. | 2011-12-27 06:28:00 Author: SSTAGG1 Posts: 1136 |
yeah, those 2 sticker packs are only stickers, no decorations. | 2011-12-27 09:52:00 Author: samalot Posts: 591 |
There's a few good decorations in the Incredibles pack, radars, sticky outy bits, etc. | 2011-12-29 13:13:00 Author: LMMN Posts: 58 |
