Where's my crown!

Hi, I'm TheDaveH. I'm not nearly as arrogant as the title would suggest, but it does hold some truth. I'm here because crowns ROCK! I've been playing LBP2 for quite a while now and I've made a lot of phenomenal things. I have this bad habit of deleting everything I make, though. It's like I'm not comfortable building anywhere but the spot on my moon that the cursor defaults to. As a result I have nothing to show of what I can do. Well, there is a very small, rushed project that's actually published now. It's an entry for the Contraption Challenge 15. I found out about the challenge the day it was due, and threw something together in 2 hours when everyone else had weeks. Well, as I understand it you guys have an awesome contest series, too. That's awesome. Turns out the current contest requires a team of 4. That's not so awesome. Since I create constantly on my own, I've made zero LBP2 friends. My brother and sister play with me from time to time, but they don't own the game and just play on my system. Plus, I'd still be short one member. =) However, if it's okay that my siblings don't have their own systems or copies of the game, I'm totally going to find another person. Nys, i know.... It is just odd. I for one, don't want a crown. Now, back on topic:

Hey! welcome to Central! If you ever stop and fail to delete your level, put it in the showcase! If you want to find some buddies: The Find Happy gadders section.
Reccomendations: the reccomendations section.....Okey, I'll stop and leave this to SGR (More like VVR though )
I hope you can continue to build shtuff, and make freinds. remember though:
It is a game, not a competition. There are no winners in LBP2.

The current contest has been in motion for a good while now, everyone has a lot of time on you, i would recommend finding some cool guys making some good friends and start creating with them, make sure they have a desire to create as well, getting here is the first of many steps to making very good creator friends and being part of big projects, you dont necessarily have to be part of central to be a good creator but you will find that it greatly helps that as well, good luck and welcome to the central. 2011-12-19 19:20:00

Welcome! Glad ya made it!

I wouldn't fuss about a crown so much. They sometimes come to those that put in a ton of effort helping the community and doing good deeds. They also come to those that win contests, but if you attempt that route I suggest finishing a level and posting it in the Level Showcase to get some feedback first. Usually quite a few skilled creators attempting to win a crown in those contests and doubtful you would hit a home run right out of the box.

I can easily tell that the crown I seek is not going to be the prize that I hold most dear (even if I get one) after joining LBPC, and not just because several of you said so. The fact that SO many people respond to someone's introductory post is the biggest sign that I think I've found the right place. Thanks for all of the great replies, folks.2011-12-20 00:17:00

Happy to have you here at LBPC! It's always nice having new members join.

There's so many friendly people here so if you have any questions then always feel free to ask any of us and we'll try to help in the best way we can. There's always people here eager to help out LBPC'ers.

This is actually my favorite site and it'll always be my main forum I'll visit, and as I see everyone else make efforts to make this site lovely for us such as the Contest Crew, the Spotlight Crew, the wonderful and nice Mods, our awesome Admin. I just love this site, and I've had fun here as long as I've been here. So I'm pretty sure with all the awesome stuff here you'll have the same fun as all of us here.

This is a great place to find great friends, find tutorials, and just generally have fun with contests and posting.
So just stick to the rules and most importantly.. Have fun!

If you're looking for a great level to play, this would be the places to go: LBPCentral Spotlight Archive (http://spotlight.lbpcentral.com/) for endless awesome levels. Or if you wanna play new levels posted in the Level Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?40-Level-Showcase) to play them, or even review them! Whatever your desire, head on into the Level Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?40-Level-Showcase) section. If you have a Level you'd like to get some feedback on, then you need to post it in the Level Showcase also. You just might even get a Spotlight! Who knows all the possibilities here at LBPC and in the LBP world? They're endless!

Also, if you're looking for a friendly competition then you should join in on the monthly contest (thanks to the awesome Contest Crew). Just be sure to read up on the rules for it and the basic requirements so you'll be fully informed on the contest.
It begins on November 15th, "A Quest For Glory (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=65229-LBPC-Contest-6-A-Quest-For-Glory)" but since there's a new Contest revealed each month then you can always enter those if you want, not to sound pushy. Just want to give you the full site intuition.
