3D gltich help?
Archive: 7 posts
i am trying to recreate a level i lost a long time ago due to PS3 death, and in the level you start off walking down a sidewalk and you eventually cross a street (walking left to right, traditional LBP style). the street extends far into the background, which is easy to do, but i also had the side walk on both sides of the street extend far back into the background. the problem i'm having is, i don't remember how i did this. the block the street is made of extends both forward and back infinitely (or 150 layers or something...). but the sidewalk has to start directly behind the back playable layer, and extend from there. and each layer is made of one flat square concrete brick so it looks like slabs on a side walk. i remember this being extremely easy to do last time, i have a hunch i just don't have the proper 3D glitch tool to do it. all i have is the "infinite" fore&background tool, and the like 10 layer foreground and background tools. thanks a ton to anyone who can help me! EDIT:i realize now that this can't be done because all the separate objects count as occupying the back playable layer. i thought i had figured it out and when i unpaused they all exploded lol. there's something else i need help with, though. i want to have another sidewalk, parallel to the one you walk on, but i want it to be one layer in front of the playable area. is there a 3D tool that is just for the foreground, and doesn't include the playable layers? because i could just use that and shrink it to one layer and it would work for what i need, but i can't find such a tool | 2011-12-16 04:51:00 Author: harbingernaut Posts: 126 |
Take a look at comphermc's YouTube tutorials about the layer tool cascade. Pookachoo also has a cascade available on her planet. | 2011-12-16 05:54:00 Author: Mr_Fusion Posts: 1799 |
thanks for the quick reply! that helped with what i was trying to do, but i couldn't find a cascade on comphermc's planet, i managed to find one but it only extends 5 layers into fore/background. any clue where i can get one that extends dozens of layers out like in his youtube vids? | 2011-12-16 06:27:00 Author: harbingernaut Posts: 126 |
i believe it was in his "data transfer" copyable level. Just copy the level, open it in edit mode and capture the cascade | 2011-12-16 07:50:00 Author: evret Posts: 612 |
any clue where i can get one that extends dozens of layers out like in his youtube vids? There's hundreds of levels which give away the glitch objects, just do an ingame search for "3d glitch (http://lbp.me/search?q=3d+glitch)" or somesuch. If you can't find one to your liking, and you still have a copy of LBP1, you can make your own (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=23874#post414086) and import it into LBP2. | 2011-12-16 10:02:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
you can make them in lbp2 using the twist glitch too | 2011-12-16 10:10:00 Author: evret Posts: 612 |
