Fantasy - Chapter Three - Crash Bandiccot

In this chapter you play as Crash Bandicoot in my own original level I created. Be sure to play the other chapters first or the story wont make any sense to you. The controls are same as Crash Bandicoot Warped.
Collect as much apples as you can for the high score. Ways to collect apples are to use spin attack with Square or jump on top of the boxes or Slam attack while in the air after jumping with X then pressing O to slam down. Double jump is a little buggy sometimes, best way to use it is to jump then press X a second after pressing X the first time not like X X but press X then X.

Just played your whole Fantasy series, pretty cool so far. But anyway, just about this level now.

It looks pretty good and was fun to play. The double jump doesn't work very well though. Sometimes it suddenly jumped very high and other times it wouldn't jump at all. No idea what kind of logic you're using for this but seems to me like there's something wrong with a timer that isn't being reset or something. You should try using this logic for double jump: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPQuk8nl7jY. It's very simple and should work a lot better as well.

Also when collecting wumpa fruit they kept pushing crates out of the way since they're solid objects. Probably better to make them hologram or sticker panel. When breaking crates some wumpa fruits also kept falling through the floor for some reason. No idea what's up with that though.

And one other thing, the impact sensors for the crates don't really seem to work well (for when you jump on them), or are you using different sensors? The crates don't always break when jumping on them. Can also touch Nitro crates without blowing up because of this.

For the rest it's pretty cool though. Not many good Crash Bandicoot based levels in LBP, so it's always nice to see one. Looking forward to see what your next Fantasy level will be.



I've actually been working on a Crash Bandicoot project myself for a while already, great to see other people still making Crash Bandicoot levels as well. Planning to release a demo some time this week since the actual level is still going to take a while.

ive done alot of testing and ive never had some of the problems that you have encounted but from my beta testers i did see some double jump problems that i will look into thanks to you. but i do beleive this is the best Crash bandicoot level there is on LBP, um the crates have been programe so you cant walk over them and make them break. you have to jump on top of them with some force but not much, and the nitro only breaks if you run into or jump on top. if you slightly very slightly nudge it , it wont blow up. thanks you for your review.2011-12-07 01:26:00
