Okay... we all hate those annoying H4H levels, and ''Short 1 sec lvl'' and ''Impossible level'' where it's just a checkpoint in a electric cube, right... So.. how did this happen??? How did they get on the ''Trending Levels'' list???:

All of these levels are made only to get un-earned hearts or plays so they can get all of the trophys and pins. These were always a problem, back to the point when they were making these trophys. Some people are willing to do anything to get them, even if it means ruining the game for everyone. If you stick to the level showcase and spotlight here on LBPC, every level has honest effort put into them, and since posting H4H levels arnt alowed, you wont find any of them there.2011-12-06 00:04:00

I think any H4H levels (and similar) should be removed from the server ASAP. They go against the very nature of the game.2011-12-06 12:07:00

I'm afraid it's because it was made a free game (mostly). After it being made free for the PS3 blackout we got the option of free LBP1 download and then people downloaded it and started making these trashy levels. Unfortunately these people got relative success with "H4H" and "P4P" and LBP2 players jumped on the bandwagon. So we just need to fish out the good levels. And don't think about making a community complaint level (IMO) they are just as bad.2011-12-06 17:28:00

Ugh. This is the biggest reason why it's hard for me to find good stuff.
I barely look at the cool pages anymore because of it, so I rely on all my hearted creators.

It's sad really, there was so much to do back in the early days of LBP1. D:

Am I the only one who finds very poorly made levels very, very amusing and enjoy playing them? I mean, for example, it's a Spongebob level. The grammar and characters look so crap, that you can't help but laugh. 2011-12-08 02:19:00

Haha, okay maybe that's true, but I rather play a incredible entertaining and good looking level than a crappy level

Yeah, it's amusing sometimes... but I do feel guilty if I play one and then see a great stage languishing in a showcase thread. I will play them if I'm lurking in the the newly created search though.

I used to use the cool pages as my source of creative levels, (This was a while ago, obviously.) but now I've chosen a few strategies for finding new stuff. A lot of the time, I'll check out the profiles of some of my friends, colleagues, and the occasional famous creator to check out their latest hearted levels and creators. This way, if my friends weren't intoxicated or tragically misinformed when playing a level, it'll be something I can play guilt-free. Another strategy I tend to use is to check out the newest levels. I'll find levels with no reviews and little or no plays, and I'll try them out. Normally, they're not too great, but I leave lengthy reviews (which are informative, but sometimes harsh) that explain the levels flaws and my understanding that they are relatively new to creating. I will then offer help in the departments of logic and aesthetics. The best part is, they often reply (positively, in fact) and tell me that they are new to this and that they would love to have my help. And so I help them out and leave more reviews, and eventually, in the best of cases, they get more recognition as they improve. I continue to tutor them, and occasionally allow them to help with my levels. They show a great interest in my work, and they have a desire to make things similar. They might ask me how to make a homemade bullet with an impact sensor and a tag, or how to make their scenery look less revolting. The only situations when I can't do much are when they need help with movers. Anyways, I'm not positive this was the correct thread to go on about this, but I suppose I'm doing good for the newer members of the community, acting almost as a parent, teaching them while shielding them from the less ethical heart-gaining strategies that have become popular in the community. I'm no Steve_Big_Guns, but I can at least provide a helping hand for freshly knit sackpeople.2011-12-11 16:02:00

The Cool Pages aren't so 'cool' anymore. They're just a gathering place for noobs and desperate and undeserving H4Hers. And they get what they want. It's usually filled with "Emo Costumes", "Prize" levels, music sequencers of modern party music, and stupid shorts that are usually around five seconds long. It's annoying, I know. However, there are much better levels out there, and you just have to find them. It may look like we don't have hope, but the hope is just hidden somewhere with two to ten plays max. I wish there was a way to find those levels and prevent the outshining of others. Like an "Underplayed Levels" selection, in which every level with less than fifty plays in a month get showed. Or something...2011-12-11 17:05:00

You have to not take those levels so seriously. Keep in mind this game is also played by those 3 - 9. Some of those think those levels are quite a bit of fun and the other ones we like and strive to make, way too hard. 2011-12-11 17:09:00
