Prince of Persia (2008) ?6.59 on PSN!

Archive: 11 posts

Wasn't sure if this warranted a new topic but I guess it can be closed after the offer is over.

This game was one of favourites of this generation. It's not perfect but ?6.59 it would be scandalous not to pick this up if ya haven't played it.

I reviewed it a while ago and in retrospect I was a little harsh. Despite what the review says I went on to collect all the blue orbs (can't remember what they're called now) and platinum the game.

Yes, the platforming can be a little automatic but there is a fantastic flow to the platforming that the older Prince of Persia games don't come close to matching. There is also an enjoyable story with two very likeable characters, a fun one-on-one combat system and one of the most beautiful worlds of this generation.

Highly recommended, especially for that price. Buy it!

I love Prince of Persia! The whole control-time concept was like mind blowing back then. Thanks for the heads up!

EDIT: For those who don't know about PoP but want to play it, I highly recommend you remember this tip: never use the dagger when you are in a very bad situation. It's better to die than manipulate time. One time I fell into spikes and died after a couple of seconds. I decided to reverse that to avoid it, but I was too deep in the spikes to fully get out. As a result, I was watching myself falling back and forth on the spikes for like 2 minutes. I couldn't stop laughing my a** off, especially since my friends were there to see my playthrough.

Good times....

Just so ya know there's no time control mechanic in this game. It's a new story with a new Prince and a very helpful female companion .

The game was great, one of the most inspired this gen.
I'm sorry Ubisoft changed back to the old style and failed, this one was a little masterpiece.

Well I don't know about eurozone prices but I do know that the preowned uk price is the same or less than the UK offer price on PSN.

Oh, so it's that new crappy version then. Bleh, forget it then. I thought it was some HD remake of it with Trophies.

Hah, well the trilogy is there in HD for €20 if you're so inclined. But this game definitely isn't crap . I don't think the sands of time trilogy holds up that well today, even the HD updated versions.2011-12-03 23:41:00

I bought it. It's not bad actually.... kinda annoying that the Prince is voiced by Nolan North... especially because I'm also working through Uncharted 3 at the moment

I wish they'd lower the price of the expansion pack.... which (at the time at least) was more expensive than the full game!
