Lighting switch in MGS level pack?

Archive: 11 posts

Hey,

I saw this little bug-lookin' switch all over the place in Media Molecule's MGS level pack.

Which, when you approach it, changes the lighting of the level.

And I wish that I had access to it for my own levels.

MM will give us access to this switch sometime, probably soon. The only reason they haven't yet(probably) is because it isn't quite ready for release.

Just like the require all option on proximity switches. They used it in their levels, but we didn't get it initially.

I did this effect in my mini game / survival challange im doing except mine is constantly changing over time not in certain areas. Your stationary in the same building so i figured i would jazz it up. I removed all lightning made it kind of dark. Made the classic hallowed out dark matter rectangle w/ the a piston pushing a block down it. And on the block I have a magnetic key.. and I have mag switches the same color as the key. The first switch is "day" its linked up to 3 lights i have floating above the players view attached to dark matter so they float. The second switch is "dusk" the third "night" I have the piston on a long cycle, so it goes day dusk night..night dusk day. Just have to tweak the radius's just right to get it to line up and get the right colors your after. Best i could come up w/ for this effect hope it helps!2008-12-27 00:22:00

Yeah, I'm guessing this is going to be in a future patch. I'm in no rush for it.2008-12-27 00:28:00

Mm has more goodies than they're willing to share.
First the 'Require all' then the Proximity Setting on the Proximity Swich, then this.

They're not hoarding, mate. >.>

They simply aren't realeased bacause it's not ready for release yet. If you recall, they released the "Require All" option, after it was ready.

You know, there must be a "Require All" version of the Grab switch, because on one level (Serpent Shrine, I believe) there is a two player area, and to get up there is a winch attached to a Sponge block. If there's more than one person then the winch doesn't activate until all people are holding on.2008-12-31 04:06:00
