Hiya everyone who's reading this thread- MovieMania! Just wanted to ask a little question to survey with you all My question? Whats your favourite type of movie/films? ie; -Horror films - Thrillers -Adventure -Science fiction - Drama -romantic - Documentaries - Playwrights - Monolouges - Suspense/ mystery -fantasy - Historical remakes -other I myself like horror films (esspecially Alfred Hitchcock's), and sci- fi/fantasy films like The Chronicals of Narnia & Lord Of the Rings ^^ And as an extra question? Action-adventure, sci-fi or thrillers. Well, I'll watch anything except crappy comedy-romance. The only rom-coms I've ever enjoyed watching are 500 Days of Summer and Scott Pilgrim vs the World.

I bet I watched lot's of romance comedy before but didn't realise it, maybe because I fell asleep or I left during it saying "I cant watch this anymore" to my friends and family lol. I like some romance though, esspecially the old black and white ones like "Random Harvest" with Ronald Colman

I never really watched any movie that was romance only. Maybe it's because modern directors decide to mix in some comedy and make it a comedy-romance to appeal to a broader audience, but both aspects fail miserably either because of bad writing or bad acting.

I could priddy much slip into any genre if it matches my mood at the time, but one that i'm always up for would have to be action.. so umm yea.. Action for me.

I'm really cynical when it comes to movies. Any movie that overtly over-uses the "hollywood tricks".... you know the ones....at the end, just as it seems all hope is lost, the music swells, the guy gets the girl, the evil obnoxcious baddy gets a pie to the face as his trousers fall down, and the crowd has a standing ovation and all the generals salute the president. If a film contains any combination of those endings, it usually leaves me cold. I like hard-hitting, pathos films...where everybody dies at the end. Normally you only realy get that kind of satisfying ending in smaller budget, european arthouse films. I also LOVE CGI family movies - anythng by Pixar etc. Even though they contain all of the elements that I hate in most films, I don't mind it if it's CGI for some reason.

In this order: Horror (supernatural stuff, not serial killers/slashers) Fantasy Sci-fi I also love animated movies. Pretty much any genre, so long as it's well done.

Yeah same here! I enjoy watching war films, I started watching them with my dad not too long ago. Pretty intense watches I must say So far I've watched these films here, 1) Downfall (German film about the last days of the reign of Hitler) I would personally give it 8.5/10 2) Come And See (A Russian war film about atrocities during the Russian resistance) 9/10 3) The Boy In Striped Pajamas 7/10 I bet I watched more war films, but these are my top 3. Then again, "Saving Private Ryan" and "Shindler's List" would probably be an excellent watch
